Design researchers observe target user communities in their work context-documenting user needs as user requirements.
Designers develop high-level and detailed product designs through low-cost, user-centered product models. An iterative sketching process is driven by interdisciplinary collaboration.
Designers and researchers move through iterative cycles of product design and testing with target end users. Each design cycle represents an increasingly higher fidelity model than the previous iteration.
Business stakeholders articulate specific project goals. This should include the scope of product capabilities, as well as design criteria, such as training targets and user-adoption metrics for the final product.
