Key Elements of SP Strategy Strategy 7: Sustainable funding for social
protection from both domestic and external resource mobilization, in particular resources that can facilitate scaling up of effective interventions.
Implementation of the national strategies would be measured in the short term through incorporation of social protection into national development plans, sector wide approaches and medium term expenditure frameworks.

National Trade Union Centres’ should develop a Code of Good Conduct that will guide the participation of Trade Union representatives on Social Protection governance structures

informal workers and linking social protection to organising and advocacy
Trade Union is to work with other stakeholders in developing specifically targeted programmes for the vulnerable groups in a comprehensive and coordinated fashion.
Campaigning for the creation of universal social benefits (e.g. through universal health benefits, old-age pensions or child-support payments would be one such example of this avenue for extension of social protection.
