Troop packing party 2013 Cindy Linke

Our packing party is almost here and we are working hard on the preparations. We still need letters, so if you are able to write any, please contact me by phone or email and I will furnish you with some stationery. Or you can write them on your own post cards or notepaper. We will also be writing letters at the packing party. We still need box sponsorships - $35 for a box for 50 soldiers, or $100 for 3 boxes for 150 soldiers. You can send the donation to me (see flier on page 6) or give it to me at the packing party. We are expecting a lot of people so we need food. If you wish to bring something, chips and dip, a salad or a dessert would be great. However, anything you like to bring would be most appreciated.

Many people SAY they support the troops, but our club actually DOES something about it. And we always receive many, many heart-felt thank you letters from our heroes who have gotten our packages. These have appeared in our newsletters. They are very humble and they don’t ask for much - just that they not be forgotten. We will be sending to our adopted ship, the John Paul Jones. If you know of a soldier or sailor that would like an individual box, just give me the address and we'll send him/her a special care package at the packing party. I know we were all extremely disappointed in the election, but this is a positive thing we can do that will lift the morale of a deserving bunch of young Americans. The men and women we are giving to are the best! Our Club is full of generous hard-working patriots so you are the best also! See you at the packing party!

President’s Message Dear members and fellow conservatives: Welcome to 2013. The coming year will be an

important one for all of us as well as a significant one for our country. Losing the election must be the beginning of our renewed, reenergized Republican Party. We must come together and represent a strong voice. It is also essential for us to mobilize the youth, particularly those who will be voting for the first time in 2013. Of course 2014 will be an important election for Governors as well as for the House. If we don’t educate them about the virtues of our party the other side will indoctrinate them with their philosophy. This new voter block will make the difference in the way our great country will go. We must however recognize that 2013 is not the same as it was in 2003. Social media plays a huge role in communicating and old ways need to be replaced in order to reach the younger generation effectively. College Republicans are the foundation of our future leaders. We need to encourage them to take an active role to shape our country's future. The blame game must stop, and facts must be disseminated now. Harry Reid and his senators blame the Republicans but the problems really began with running our country without a budget for over three years. The country needs strong leadership and definitely not caving in to pressures. We must believe in our convictions and conservative beliefs. We Republican women and men will make the difference. Let’s show it to them. This means to be vocal, and not sit idle. We must demand that our elected officials represent us and if they do not, we will vote them out. Our votes are the best weapon. Republicans rock around the Christmas Tree!

Thank you Becky Keller and your dear husband for facilitating the parking so guests could park on the property. The

home was beautifully decorated, the perfect venue for a festive day. Becky was a gracious hostess who made us feel most welcome. Thank to everybody who brought food and contributed to the fabulous spread. We even had soup to keep us warm. 65 of you attended and donated lots of toys for tots. Bill Whittle was a stimulating, inspiring speaker and all with humor. He sounds like the leader the Republican Party should have. He is not afraid to speak his mind and live with his convictions. He inspired people to act on their beliefs and never sit back. We need to protect our great country!
