Dear Parishioners

I pray your summer is peaceful. We have experienced some changes over the past few years so why stop now!!!...I hope you chuckled. I want to just inform you of some changes you will see when looking over the weekday and weekend Mass intentions. The “big C” Church, meaning the universal Church, requires that one Mass each weekend be offered “Pro Populo” which means “for the people”; no specific Mass intentions can be requested for that Mass. Given that only one Mass per parish is required, there is provision for some weekend Masses where specific intentions can be offered. Given that opportunities for Mass intentions have been limited, by the reduction in weekday Masses, across Elgin County, this offers families and individuals another opportunity to offer Masses for loved ones. So beginning July, there will be opportunities for specific Mass intentions at the following Mass times:

Saturdays at St. Anne’s 4:30 pm, and Our Lady of Sorrows, 5 pm Sundays at St. Helen’s, 8:30 am and Holy Angels’, 7 pm;

(The 10:30 am at St. Mary’s will be offered “Pro Populo” for both St. Helen’s and St. Mary’s)

Peace, Fr. John

Our Family of Parishes were blessed with a beautiful, sunny day for its annual picnic. Thanks to the Committee who organized the event and to all the volunteers who helped with the many tasks needed to make an event like a picnic a success. Thanks also to all who came out for the afternoon to enjoy the food and the company of each other's presence along with wishing Father Charles your best wishes and thanks for his year among us. Gratefully and continued blessings
