Objective

Laying out the framework of analysis for prioritizing resources in LAC region and identifying priority resources.

Process

1. Begins December 2009

2. April 2010 – Launching of the GESRE Project in Panama and receiving feedback from the participants for the report

3. July 2010 – Submission of interviews to Experts from the region, members from the GESRE Platform

4. August / September 2010 – Analysis of the interview´s results

5. November 2010 – Workshop in Florianopolis (Brazil) – compilation of case studies

6. April 2011 – Workshop in Coatzacoalcos (Mexico) – compilation of case studies

7. September 2011 – Workshop in Taller Santa Fe (Argentina) – Discussion of preliminary conclusions and recommendations

8. October 2011 – Review and feedback from members of ECLAC, WFN, pilot projects representatives and GESRE´s platform

Construction of roads and irrigation infrastructure, linked to the Project “Biodiversity Protection”, which aims to recover with native species erosion-affected creeks.

SRM indicators: Resource distribution is done jointly with the indigenous communities which define in which social projects the money will be invested.

Environmental recovery of damamaged watersheds, trough reforestation and sustainable use of land.

SRM indicators : 630 farmers received a first payment for reforested lots

65 hectares of degraded lots, reforested Trees as an income generating activity
