Ella Prakash is an Indian Bahrain based artist. Her professional art career started in the early
1982 and she has worked across various mediums. Her acrylic paintings present the world as
if seen through a prism, with bold colors parceled out into geometric forms that seem fleeting
in space.
Being a celebrated artist across the globe, her exhibitions have shown a clear evolution in her
approach to art, making evident its truly limitless power. Her figurative art work display the
symmetrical beauty of the universe encapsulated in the form of a woman. The paintings carry
a message drawn with mystical lines, surrealistic shapes, perspective designs with soft colors,
light and dark, displaying playful elements of mass, volume and texture.
Ella Prakash has upcoming solo shows in Nehru Centre, London and India Habitat Centre,
Delhi. She has been exhibiting internationally since 1986: Debut Contemporary (London, 2015),
Art Expo (New York, 2015), Nina Torres (Miami, 2014), Renaissance Gallerie (India, 2012),
Marziart Internationale Galerie (Germany, 2010) are a few to name.
This catalogue presents eighteen works that showcase the dynamism of feminine energy. The
paintings, each uniquely knit into an abstract narrative by subtle yet powerful figures, are Ella’s
exploration of a woman’s sense of self and healing.
