Changes to the AP Exam Process for 2019
The College Board has implemented some important changes for next year that will impact you if you or your child plan to take an AP exam next year. These changes include:
Exams are now ordered in the fall.
Students must decide about taking AP Exams in the fall, so that the AP coordinator can sub-mit the school’s exam order by the preferred (October 4, 2019) or final (November 15, 2019, 11:59 p.m. ET) deadlines. It is possible to request an exam after the final deadline until the spring course orders and fall order changes deadline (March 13, 2020, 11:59 p.m. ET), but an additional late order fee of $40 per exam will apply.
If a student chooses to cancel an exam after November 15 or does not take an exam that was ordered for them, the school will be charged $40 for the exam.
Students will have access to more AP practice and feedback resources.
AP Courses that begin 2nd quarter or after would be considered a “spring course” and regis-tration deadline in March

Prom 2019
This year the Ellsworth High School prom will be held on April 27th. The theme is “A Moonlit Stroll in
Paris”, and the colors are gold and navy. Following is a list of information for anyone interested in at-
tending this year’s prom as a student or spectator.
Prom goers (student) tickets will be sold from April 1st – April 10th in the high
school office. No tickets will be sold after April 10th. The tickets will be $100/couple (includes 6
spectator tickets) and $50/single (includes 3 spectator tickets). This also includes:
Dinner at the Little Log House Pioneer Village, Hastings.
D.J. Entertainment/Dance.
Transportation to and from the Little Log House Pioneer Village.
Spectator tickets will be $3/adult and $2/student. Spectator tickets will be sold in advance. All prom
goers will receive 3 spectator tickets each at the time they purchase their own tickets so that all families
automatically receive spectator tickets. For this reason, prom goers will now pay $100/couple or $50/
single. Unused spectator tickets may be returned after April 10th and sold to others in need of them.
Remaining spectator tickets will be available in the high school office starting April 16th. There will be
no waiting list for these tickets; it will be first come, first served (students may purchase them for you!)
No one will be admitted to the Grand March without a ticket. No exceptions! We want it to be an en-
joyable experience for all!
Any student wishing to bring a guest who is not a current EHS student will have to get a signed consent
from the guest agreeing to follow EHS rules. These forms need to be turned in at the time students
sign up for prom. These guests will be approved by EHS administration prior to allowing them to par-
ticipate. All prom guests must be sophomores or older, and 19 or younger (no more than one year out
of high school).
The day’s agenda is as follows:
3:30 Photos start (Ellsworth Fanfoto)
4:30 Doors open for spectators
5:00 Grand March
6:00 Board buses for Hastings
7:00 Dinner
8:00 Dance
11:15 Board buses
12:00 Arrive EHS
Please plan your child’s post-prom activities in advance in order to provide a safe evening for everyone
involved. The school’s responsibility for your child ends when the bus returns to EHS at approx. 12:00
a.m.
We welcome any volunteers who would like to help decorate. We will decorate on Friday, April 26th
from 7:30-3:00. We also welcome help from parents in taking down the decorations after the
Grand March and following the departure of all prom goers. The rest of clean-up will be done on
Sunday. Prom committee members are required to be there. Any other volunteers would be greatly
appreciated. Many hands make light work! If you are available to help or have any other questions
regarding prom, please contact Anne Pechacek or Lesley Stoesz at the high school, 273-3904.
