Eloísa Díaz Insunza

• She was the first female student of medicine at the University of Chile and the first Chilean female doctor.

• Born: Santiago, Chile, on June 25th 1866

• Death: November 1 st, 1950 (84 years old)

• She was the daughter of Eulogio Diaz Varas and Carmela Insunza.

Interesting fact (arreglar)† To achieve this she must

overcome the social prejudices of this time, the resistance of the teachers and attend to classes accompanied with her mother.

† To understand what the degree of Eloisa Diaz it should be noted that throughout the nineties , only ten women achieved this distinction.
