We hope you enjoyed the teaser! To order the first chapter, which will be 100 full colour pages, pre-order it through one of the team in person at the conventions or visit our website at http://elysia,me

Below we have some early conceptual sketches and notes to give you an idea of how a project like this gets off the ground...

This is the VERY FIRST ever sketch of Elysia done by Jen. I remember the excitment when this image hit my inbox. Thats when Elysia became real.

A confident, maturing Elysia. After all the grief of becoming an angel, chapter 2 explores a different side to her abilities.

Early-stage development of the anxo and fallen anxo wings.

Many an hour has been spent on all of the tiny details - here’s one example of her hair. Her facial expressions, her boots, her clothing, the stuff in her room etc have all been sketched out for discussion. We wanted everything to be perfect.

Frog is probably Team Elysia’s favourite character. His cheeky smile tied in with his infectious enthusiam for life makes it hard not to love him.

More playing with wings and their styles. We went for bird-style feather wings in the end as it makes the characters more appealing over, say, bat wings.

The anxo logo itself was crucial to perfect as it is displayed all over the graphic novel series. It’s what defines the anxos over their rivals, the fallen anxos. It was an easy decision to turn it upside down in a yin and yang style.

“It’s a very female-friendly science fiction project – female creators, female lead character (which shouldn’t put the boys off though, there is a lot in there to appeal quite widely to many Science Fiction and Fantasy readers) – taking in angelic being and a somewhat different world from ours, but the

real core is about relationships, working out your own place in the world and your own identity as you grow.”

Joe Gordon, Forbidden Planet International

“Part of the popularity is surely down to the pitch itself, a tale of a fictional future where angels and humans have to coexist side by side, the former guarding the latter but never to enter a relationship with each other. Elysia is the result of a broken rule, and is not only struggling with the usual perils of

growing up, but with the clash of cultures and identities within her, as well as being the key to saving the world!”
