About 200 Jews currently live in Iquitos, the Amazon capital of Peru. Although some of them are not regarded as Jewish according to the “Halacha” rules, they all keep the Jewish tradition from generation to generation, and feel a strong bond to Eretz Israel and the Israeli people.

Visiting the Jewish section of Iquitos cemetery, sheds some light on the exceptional “Kibbutz Galuyot” of remote Iquitos, since some Jews arrived from north Africa, and others from Europe.
