Email Archiving
Email is downloading, keeping and protecting emails that you are receiving or sending so they can be accessed at another time.
Archiving removes the actual email from your inbox but keeps it in your account ready if you need to access it.
Benefits
It cleans up your inbox so there is more space
It helps you recover lost or deleted files
It helps accelerate your audit response
It preserves your business emails and attachments
It tells you what happened and when it happened if someone has logged onto your email account
Archiving
If you have too many emails or just want to back up your emails you will send them to an archive
This will take the emails and put them into a safe place. It’s the same as backing up your computer in some sense. Many IT departments will do a back up for you
File Sizes
If you try to send an email but its to big there are a few things you can do
Copy and paste the text into the actual email instead of attaching it so there
Compress the file using a software like WinZip as its easy to use
Send the files as a PDF file instead of a word document
