MATHATHON IS HERE!! Hello Sunrise Parents! We wanted to remind you that our Mathathon pledge forms are due on Monday. Mathathon is one of the largest fundraisers for our FFO and helps fund things like our class field trips, the community garden, our Science Fair, Artists-in-residence, our 5 th grade legacy project, and much more! We urge you to look through the packet and help your child with contacting friends and family to make pledges. We are trying for 100% participation this year, and every child who turns in a pledge will get a prize, regardless of the amount. Mathathon is all about making math fun! NEW THIS YEAR! We can now take pledges online! We have set up a school site at https://pledgestar.com/sunrisedrive . It is super easy to use, and your student(s) can then email family and friends, and payments can be made online, so less collecting cash or chasing money after you’ve fronted it yourself (yep, we’ve all done that!). This website is set up so that anyone committing a per-problem pledge will not have to pay until after the Mathathon is complete and your child’s score has been recorded. Flat pledges will be collected right away. We are hoping that each family can send out just 10 emails to help us reach our goal of raising $25,000. This is a great way to continue to collect pledges after turning in the pledge form! Some important dates to note… March 9 – Paper pledge forms and any money already collected due

MATHATHON IS HERE!!

Hello Sunrise Parents! We wanted to remind you that our Mathathon pledge forms are due on Monday. Mathathon is one of the largest fundraisers for our FFO and helps fund things like our class field trips, the community garden, our Science Fair, Artists-in-residence, our 5th grade legacy project, and much more! We urge you to look through the packet and help your child with contacting friends and family to make pledges. We are trying for 100% participation

this year, and every child who turns in a pledge will get a prize, regardless of the amount. Mathathon is all about making math fun!

NEW THIS YEAR! We can now take pledges online! We have set up a school site at https://pledgestar.com/sunrisedrive.

Some important dates to note…

March 9 – Paper pledge forms and any money already collected due March 12 – MATHATHON TEST DAY – pledge forms will be sent back home to collect

per-problem pledges and any flat pledges that were not yet collected. March 24 – All pledge money due (ok to turn in after this date, but it won’t count

towards individual or class awards)

Dr. Math will be around in the week ahead to quiz the children. Please also go over the sample tests (sent home in the packet) so your child knows what to expect. This is supposed to be fun; it’s not a graded test, so no pressure! If you did not receive a packet and need one, please feel free to contact me. We will also be in need of lots of volunteers on Mathathon day, so please check out our sign-up or contact me. Thanks so much!
