Explore the World One Bite at a Time with CA’s New World Food Passport
The World Food Passport program allows people to explore the amazing spectrum of food options and cultures represented around Howard County. People can pick up theiri free World Food Passports from CA Headquarters, any on Columbia's 10 village community associations, the Howard County Tourism office in Historic Ellicott City and at any of the six Howard County Library system branches. Look for the pink basket at Slayton House!There is a limit of one passport per family. Diners then eat at participating restaurants and ask their server or the manager to stamp their passports and fill in the name of the restaurant and the date of service. Once a passport holder has stamps in each of six categories, they can enter a quarterly $25 restaurant gift certificate drawing at ColumbiaAssociation.org/Food Passport. For

The RAC (Resident Architectural Committee meets the second and fourth Tuesday of the month.
Applications for exterior alterations received by the date of the meeting will be reviewed at the

Slayton House Theatre Camp of the Arts
Bernice Kish Gallery at Slayton House
The Bernice Kish Gallery at Slayton House offers ongoing exhibits featuring many well-
know regional artists as well as local artists. A reception is usually held on the first
Sunday of the show, which is free and open to the public. Visit the website for

Breathe Deep Columbia 5K Walk Register now for the third annual Breathe Deep Columbia 5K Walk, beginning at the Lake Front Plaza in Town Center on Saturday, April 25, 10am-11:30am. All proceeds from this event go to the LUNGevity Foundation to fund lung cancer research.The event will take place rain or shine. For more information, go to www.lungevity.org/columbia. There will also be a before the walk event on April 1, all day at Union Jack's British Pub. Union Jack's will donate 15% of the food and beverage purchases back to LUNGevity Foundation.
Howard County FY2016 BudgetThe Howard County Council will begin its work on the fiscal year 2016 budget beginning April 1. Searching for Spring 2015The Annual Searching For Spring Egg Hunt, co-sponsored by the Villages of Columbia, will be held on Saturday, April 11 from 10AM-11:30AM at the Columbia Sports Park in the Harper's Choice Village Center located at 5453 Harper's Farm Road. No admittance permitted after 10:45AM.This event is especially planned for children ages 2-8. Tickets are required for this
FREE event. They are available at Slayton House and all village community centers
while supplies last. Tickets are for Columbia lien-paying residents only.
"Creating Columbia: A Mini-Course" at Historic Oakland on Thursday EveningsBy popular demand, “Creating Columbia: A Mini-Course” is being offered again, this time in the evenings and at a new location.
The free mini-course from Columbia Association’s (CA) Columbia Archives is great for those interested in learning about the
events of a significant period in the history of Columbia.
“Creating Columbia: A Mini-Course” will be held on three Thursdays: April 30, May 7 and May 14, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Historic
Oakland, 5430 Vantage Point Road, Columbia. The mini-course is free, but registration is encouraged. People can choose to
register for all three Thursdays or for individual sessions via ColumbiaMiniCourse.Eventbrite.com or by calling 410-715-
6781. These sessions will be led by Columbia historian Barbara Kellner, director of Columbia Archives. For more information,

CA’s Dog Day Afternoon returns on May 2. Save the date!
Columbia Association announces the ninth
annual Dog Day Afternoon on Saturday, May2, 11am - 3pm at a new location: Columbia Dog Park, 5901 Rivendell Lane, adjacent to the Harper's Choice Village Center. This free event also will feature local businesses and organizations that focus on the health, happiness and well-being of our beloved furry friends.
CA Camp Open Houses Learn about the camps being offered by CA this summer by attending one of two free open houses: March 21, noon-3pm at the Columbia Athletic Club and May 13, 6-8pm at the Columbia Sportspark. Upcoming Events and Activities
Town Hall MeetingHoward County Executive Kittleman will hold a Town Hall meeting on Tuesday,
March 31 at The Other Barn, 5851 Robert Oliver Place in Oakland Mills beginning at
6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Attendees may begin signing in on March 31 at 6:00 p.m.
Kittleman will discuss any subject and field questions from residents, as a way to
encourage dialogue on matters of interest. Town Hall meetings are free and open to
the public. After this meeting in east Columbia, Kittleman will schedule others in
different parts of the county
The Village in Howard Presents "Selma"
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the second march on Selma, Alabama, the Village in Howard invites the community to hear recollections of that historic march by Howard County resident Sherman Howell, followed by a viewing of the Academy Award nominated film "Selma" on Tuesday, March 24, 6:30pm at Slayton House. Admission is $6 cash and there is limited seating. Doors open at 6pm. For more information about purchasing tickets, go to www.thevillageinhoward.org or call 443-367-9043.
Neighborhood Reps CelebrationNew and seasoned Neighborhood Reps are invited to a celebration to honor their service to the Village of Wilde Lake. Enjoy refreshments, the smooth guitar stylings of Ed Nicholson, conversation and games on Sunday, March 29, from 2:30-4pm at Slayton House. If your neighborhood is not currently represented, or you are interested in becoming an alternate, please come out to meet our team.The mission of the Neighborhood Representative Program is to facilitate two-way communication between the local neighbrood residents and Wilde Lake Community Association for the purposes of enhancing community spirit, fostering greater community awareness, and promoting the participation in neighborhood activities and projects.

The Board meets the first Monday of each month at 6:30pm at Slayton House. The Agenda for Board meetings is posted at Slayton House and on the village website www.wildelake.org the Friday before each meeting. The next Board meeting will be April 6, 2015.
