Xinhuanet reported an oil spill in China that may have been minor, but it affected 2.4 million people. Freedom Industries 10,000 gallon spill of crude MCHM into the Elk River water supply impacted 300,000 West Virginians. BP Whiting Refinery 630-1,638 gallon spill into Lake Michigan, impacted "the source of drinking water for 7 million people in Chicago and the suburbs." Murphy's Law should guide you and others in the fossil fuel extraction, refining and transportation industries to consider not only the price of cleaning up a spill, but the non-quantifiable human costs, especially now that you are entering the hydrocarbon end game.Please meet me for coffee to discuss required and realistic options for your success and legacy.
