TULLE SANDWICH EMBELLISHING Connie LongCreate beautiful floating collages using combinations of humble or exotic or luxurious ingredients such as discarded thread, snips of fabric, beads, etc. You will start to look at the throwaway by-products of your everyday sewing in a new light. Because you don’t have to sew through the embellishment material to hold it in place, you can incorporate solid (but not sharp) objects, such as light-weight coins and beads into the design. BEADED EMBELLISHING BY MACHINE Connie LongWe will explore the possibilities for apply-ing beads and beaded trim to fabric using the sewing machine. This technique allows you to couch (sew to the top of the fabric) beads along necklines and edges, to create borders down the front or along hemlines or to add beautiful swirl designs.
