Notes for Antoine EMERY DIT CODERRE: Antoine arrived in Canada on August 17, 1665, aboard the LaPaix, as a

soldier in the Regiment de Carignan, company of Contrecoeur. Following

two years of service, he was demobilized in 1668 and decided to remain in

Canada. On April 13, 1674, Antoine and Marie Devault consented to their

marriage contract in Contrecoeur, Vercheres, Quebec in the presence of

notary Adhemar. There were eleven children born of this marriage, six of

whom survived to adulthood. Marie Devault died on December 6, 1687

and was buried the next day at Repentigny at the same time as her last

Death notice only - September 1, 1904 - Utica Daily Press John Emery died at his home in this village of New York Mills at 10 o'clock this morning. He was a

native of Canada and was 62 years old. - John married twice; 10 children in the first marriage. His first wife died bearing twins who also

died. His second wife had 12 children; three of whom died at a young age. Ella, John's

grandaughter, says his place of birth might be Tecumseh or Point Rock Ontario. His obituary

says he was age 62 years.

Notes for Philomene Tetreault: died giving birth to twins sometime between 1878 and 1884 book ffdrr

shows her parents as Narcisse Tetreault and Archange Remillard which

would make her Rosalie's sister married to Jean's brother Francois. The

parents Benoi and Julliene came from church records of marriages at IC

Utica Daily Press - April 21, 1944 Whitesboro - Mrs. Celina Emery, 85, died April 20, 1944, in her home, 18 Ellis Ave. after a lingering

illness. Born in Canada February 10, 1859, she was married to John Emery. He died in 1904. Mrs.

Emery had lived here for a number of years and was a member of St. Paul's Church. She leaves five

sons, Fred, Utica; Wilfred and Otis, Whitesboro; Leo, Detroit, and Louis, Clinton; four daughters, Mrs.

Fred Beachard, Chittenango, Mrs. George Zimmer, Yorkville; Mrs. John Brosmer, Troy, and Mrs.

John Cain in California; 24 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. - Celina was the oldest of 14 children. One of her sisters drowned in a well when she was 8 yars old

States in 1900. She married Fred M. Bechard in 1910 in St. Paul's

Church, Whitesboro. He died in 1962. Mrs. Bechard was a member of

St. Paul's Church. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Eva Harp of Fontana; several nieces

who include Mrs. W. (Marie) Hogan of Port Charlotte, Florida and several

nephews also survive. The funeral will be Wednesday morning at 9:30 at

the J.W. Dimbleby Funeral Home and at 10:00 at St. Paul's church.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 2-4

and 7-9. - She raised a niece Marie, but had no natural children.

Mr. Emery was a loom fixer for the Utica & Mohawk Cotton Mills, Inc. until he retired

in 1952. He married M. Agnes Foote in 1909. Mr. Emery was a member of the

was the son of the late John and Salina Gaynor Emery. The family came

to the United States in 1900 and settled in Massachusetts but later moved

to New York Mills. He was educated in New York Mills schools. August

16, 1911, Mr. Emery married Mary A. Mullen in St. Paul's Church,

Whitesboro. He was a loom fixer all of his life and was so employed by the

Utica Mohawk & Steam Cotton Mills until his illness. He was a member of

ago he contracted a severe cole, which developed into consumption, and

he failed rapidly. Emil Emery was born in Canada 13 years ago, the son

of the late John and Salina Emery. When a small boy he came to this

village with his parents. He attended the Middle Mills Union School and

was a bright active little fellow, well liked by his school associates. He leaves six brothers and four sisters,

besides his mother. The family have the sympathy of the community in

their bereavement. The funeral will be held from the home at 9:30

o'clock Monday morning and a half hour later from St. Paul's Catholic
