VAL’S AUTUMN GARDENING TIPS Time to do your winter housekeeping Remembering that what you put into your garden now will be repaid threefold in spring. Prune the roses and fruit trees. Mulch the garden and keep weeds under control. Move the things that need to be moved as the ground is now very moist. Keep well and enjoy the sunshine. Val.

FRRR GRANT - Federation For Rural & Regional Renewal – Administered through the office of Damian Drum – Member of the Australian House of Representatives. Earlier this year we applied for, and were lucky to receive, a grant for $14,196.00 to update our Outside Broadcast Equipment. The grant has enabled us to purchase equipment including an AEQ Phoenix Alio, Portable OB Audio case and Audio Codec Phoenix Mercury with rack configuration. Having this equipment all together, in a portable case, will make it much easier for our presenters to set up when they are out in the community. Unfortunately, due to Covid 19, we are unable to hold outside broadcasts at the moment, but we’re very excited to use the new equipment when restrictions are lifted. We’d like to thank Damian Drum and the FRRR for making this grant possible.

ROGER PEAKE – POTPOURRI. Thursday10am to 1pm. In the last couple of months “Potpourri” has featured comedy from Stan Freberg, Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band, Danny Kaye, Clinton Ford and many others; featurettes on VE Day, cars and drag racing, holidays (because we can’t), one hit wonders (so many to choose from), singing in French and many other themes, plus tracks from a variety of singers including Kevin Kline, Neil Diamond (a listener’s favourite) and many more. Our “Nice Night Out” segment has featured tracks from a variety of films and stage shows, and “Hello and Goodbye” has saluted anniversaries of notable

births and deaths. What will the next couple of months bring? You’ll just have to tune in at 10am on Thursdays to find out (or stream via your device using our app or website if you’re out of the broadcast area).

JIM, SARAH & ROGER – We’d like to welcome Sarah Varcoe to EMFM. Sarah is a trained presenter from 1FM in Shepparton and is relocating to the area. She’s seen here getting a few pointers from our rascally duo – Jim & Roger. Sarah brings a breath of youthful enthusiasm to the station and her program will go to air in the next few weeks.

CHRIS’S WHEEL MUSIC 4-5PM Saturday. Chris’s May/June themes included Hold – (hold on during the Covid Crisis), Mother’s Day, Daughter’s Birthday, Funk, Queen’s Birthday, Streets & Roads to support Echuca East School’s campaign to retain the Eyre St children’s crossing. This week is “Out” to celebrate getting out with our new Outside Broadcast equipment. Don’t miss his excellent Dad Jokes!
