    As the presence and acvity of Franciscan Mission Outreachin the Diocese of La Ceiba unfolds and extends, the momen-tum has increased and more and more opportunies haveopened up. The two month visits that took place in late sum-mer and late fall were full of a variety of acvies involvingevangelizaon and outreach to the poor. Some of theminclude:

    Retreats and formaon acvies with and for Missionersof Christ lay community, both in La Ceiba and Comaya-gua. In Comayagua this includes working with Corazn

    Puro youth chasty outreach, a edgling Communionand Liberaon School of Community, and visits to theGranja Jess Nazareth home for boys.

    Welcoming the Daughters of Mary of Nazareth missionteam from Boston that included both religious sistersand lay women. The team conducted weeklong pro-grams for women and children in the community of SanJudas Tadeo, as well as provided school supplies, liturgi-cal items and support for repairs on the Santa InsWomens Training Center.

    A number of dierent evangelizaon eorts with theassistance of pairs of Missioners of Christ that came toLa Ceiba for two

    -week visits that included school pro-

    grams, Holy Hours, radio shows, missionary formaon,youth acvies, prison ministry and more.

    Pan de Vida Eucharisc youth retreats for conrmaoncandidates from two local parishes and for students atthe La Ceiba campus of the Catholic University ofHonduras.

    Pastoral assistance and sacramental ministry that in-cludes regular Sunday Mass helpouts, Bapsms, FirstCommunions, Confessions and vising outstaons suchas the Catholic communies on the island of Guanaja.

    UPCOMING ACTIVITIES:

    At the request of Bishop Michael Lenihan, OFM, most of our

    missionary acvity connues to take place in the Diocese of La

    Ceiba, Honduras and includes evangelizaon eorts, spiritual

    formaon, programs for youth and young adults, welcoming

    vising mission teams, and outreach to the poor. Many of

    these acvies are carried out in close collaboraon with

    Missioners of Christ.

    Jan 4 -11, 2014: Haiti

    Jan 30 -Mar 10, 2014: Honduras

    Mar 15 -19: Parish Mission, St. Joseph, Petersburg, VA

    Apr 8 -20: Honduras: Holy Week & Jess en la Playa

    AFRICA UPDATE: With the help of our benefactors, Franciscan Mission Outreach was recently able to send support to twowonderful works of mercy visited by Fr. Herald Brock, CFR last year: the Mutemwa Leprosy Selement and Mother of Peace or-

    phanage in Zimbabwe (pictured above). FMO was also able to assist the Nigerian Missionaries of St. Paul working in Torit, South

    Sudan with vehicle repairs and sponsorship for local youth to aend the Youth for Christ conference at Emmaus Centre in Uganda.
