There are many ways to approach the challenge of identifying specific examples of poor employee performance. The reason this method works is simply that it shifted focus to behaviors of performance that needs question rather than to the person who’s not performing.
Remember, your goal is to fix behavior or performance problem, not to fix the person. Ideally, you will address the performance issue in a way that makes the employee feeling confident in taking the resolved issue and remain a valued employee.
