ECU: THE LEADERSHIP INSTITUTION ECU’s service mission and continual commitment to excellence have made the university one of the fastest-

growing institutions in the nation. The university boasts a student population of more than 27,000, including

more than 21,000 undergraduate students, about 6,000 graduate and doctoral students, and more than 300

medical students. Almost 61 percent of students are females and 39 percent are males. More than 20 percent of

students are minorities, and 12 percent are from out of state. The students’ potential, combined with the promise

of expanding services such as the East Carolina Heart Institute and the School of Dental Medicine, help ECU make

an extraordinary difference in the region and beyond.

East Carolina University was named one of the best colleges in the Southeast region by The Princeton Review.

ECU is among 138 colleges in 12 states to be deemed “Best in the Southeast” based on the quality of its academic

programs.

ECU CareerNET

ECU CareerNET is a free resource that allows you to post employment opportunities to all current East Carolina University students and alumni. This database allows employers to post full-and part-time opportunities, co-op postings, and internships as well as schedule on campus interviews and events. To login or create an account visit www.ecu.edu/career.

ON CAMPUS INTERVIEWS

Reserve a schedule to interview candidates for internships and full-time career opportunities. You'll have the opportunity to recruit high caliber students from a targeted major or from a variety of disciplines.

INFORMATION SESSIONS

Throughout the year we can put you in touch with our students in on-campus information sessions. You name the date and time, and we'll coordinate the on-campus logistics from locating and coordinating appropriate venues and parking to marketing your session to students and alumni.

CAREER FAIRS

East Carolina students are in demand. Connect with highly qualified and well-prepared students and alumni at multiple fairs throughout the year. Opportunities exist for all employment needs within large corporations to small organizations, including non-profit and government agencies, education and health care. Connect with ECU CareerNET to get started.

POP - PIRATES ON THE PORCH

On select afternoons, a featured organization hosts an informal networking session on the front porch of Career Services. Career Services does the marketing to recruit the students you want to reach. We provide a fun venue with a wrap-around porch, a tent on the lawn, music, soda pop and pizza which sets the ideal setting for informal networking.

H.I.R.E.D

Join the H.I.R.E.D. (Helping Individuals Reach Employment Destinations) team! Volunteer to lead practice interviews with a student. Become one of the trainers where more than 1200 practice sessions are conducted each year. As a targeted volunteer sponsor the corporate logo will be displayed prominently on The Career Service’s webpage.

PROFESSIONAL ETTIQUETE DINNER As a table host you will have the opportunity to connect and develop relationships with students from majors of your choice. Partner’s corporate logo will be displayed at the event and receive acknowledgement in marketing materials promoting the event. Partners will also be recognized during the event and have the option for a table display leading into the venue before and after the dinner.

ON-CAMPUS RECRUITING INFORMATION

On Campus Interview Schedule Options

Open

The open schedule allows students and alumni meeting

your job requirements to self-schedule an interview time

and submit their resumes online. Your schedule fills with no

more action on your part. You will be able to view the

resumes as they are submitted for the interviews. The

schedule closes two days prior to your interview date.

Preselect (type most often used by employers)

A pre-select schedule allows you to pre-screen student

resumes for your interviews. After reviewing the resumes

during a specified selection period and making your pre-

selections online, the ECU CareerNET system automatically

notifies the selected students. They are then responsible to

self-schedule a timeslot for the interview schedule. There

are trigger dates that prompt action on your part, i.e. for

resume review and candidate selection. ECU CareerNET will

prompt you by email when a trigger date is nearing. There

are preset system dates for these activities but these dates

can be easily modified by Career Services at your request.

Room Only

This option allows you to create your own interview

schedule of ECU students outside the online ECU CareerNET

system. This choice is suggested if, at a job fair, information

session or other student meeting, you develop a list of

students that you would like to interview. Reserve an

interview room in advance of the event.

Set up your own time schedule directly with the candidates

and send a copy of the schedule to Career Serices the day

before your interview. Some employers also use this option

to conduct second interviews. We are happy to provide a

free interview room based on availability.

ECU CORPORATE PARTNER PROGRAM CONTD.

The Corporate Partner Program offers an opportunity for businesses to demonstrate commitment to East Carolina University and our students through direct financial support of the ECU Career Services. The levels at which a company or an employer may participate are described below:

Daring and decisive during any engagement, the captain was commonly looked upon with respect, as a knowledgeable leader of others.
