Bethany Christian Care is a long-established, charitable aged care provider, with a total resident population of about 470, and around 220 staff, across three campuses on Brisbane’s southside – at Eight Mile Plains, Graceville and Manly West (with another, at South Redbank Plains, in the planning). As you will see from the attached, our organisation’s “reason for being” is that those who live and work in, and visit our Facilities will be touched - even changed - by the love of Christ. Obviously, our staff play a vital role in this, which is why, in all our Position Descriptions, Key Selection Criterion (KSC) No.1 stipulates: Demonstrated ability to work within the mission, vision and philosophy of Bethany Christian Care. (More in that regard can be gleaned from the attached “Who We Are” document.) If you can demonstrate that ability, we’d love to hear from you! A statement, in your own words (and up to a half-page in length), telling us how you meet our requirements as set out in KSC No.1; 2. Your resume (if we do not already have a copy); and 3. A completed ‘Application for Employment’ form (attached). Important: Applications cannot be processed unless all of the above documentation is supplied. Of course, how well you meet the other Key Selection Criteria for the job (as per the Position Description) is also very important, and this will be raised with you later (should we opt to take your expression of interest to the next step). Besides possessing a compassionate attitude, a key motivation we look for in new staff is a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the quality of life of elderly people, and to place them at the centre of each and every task. The environment (whilst not perfect because of the many humans around!) is warm and friendly – many say it’s quite special and appealing. Further, for permanent staff, as a Public Benevolent Institution, we offer Salary Packaging (which allows up to $15,899 of your salary – or more if you avail yourself of a “Meals/ Entertainment Card”, and/or claim certain accommodation expenses – to be paid completely tax-free). This provides a considerable boost – as much as 14% for some - to the value of your package via tax savings. A staff uniform is provided by the organisation. RNs and ENs receive free meals while at work, (partly to help us review the quality of the meals). Nursing staff can be paid at a higher level (by demonstration of “advanced practice”).
