General Information (Channel & Fittings)

Applications: B-Line Systems channel isa basic structural member of the channelframing system. Use of the channel alongwith the appropriate fittings and attachmentspermit the rapid and economical constructionof a virtually unlimited variety of rigid metalsupport structures. Channel sections areroll for med from strip steel coils whilefittings are made from either steel coils orsheet. Refer to page 15 of the B-Line StrutSystems catalog for Channel SelectionTable, pages 16-37 for Channel Load Dataand pages 4-13 for Technical Data. Othersizing charts for conduit, pipe and tubingas well as threaded rod load charts areshown on pages 207-211 of the StrutSystems catalog.Materials:B-Line's standard roll formedchannels are made from PreGalvanized steel conforming to ASTMA 6 5 3 S S , G r a d e 3 3 G 9 0 ( . 4 5 o z .zinc/ft.2). Plain finish channels are rollformed from hot-rolled, pickled andoiled steel conforming to ASTM A570,Grade 33. Certain sections are availableable in Stainless Steel Type 304 & 316(consult factory). Aluminum alloy 6063-T6is used to ext rude severa l channe lsect ions and combinat ion sect ions(consult factory).Finishes:B-Line's standard finishes onchannels are Dura-Green Epoxy andPre Galvanized (as shown above) whilestandard finishes for fittings are Dura-Green Epoxy and Zinc Plated. Plainfinish is also available. (HDGAF) Hot-Dipped Galvanized After Fabrication isavailable on both channel and fittings(not recommended on threaded items)and conforms to one of the followingapplicable specifications: ASTMA123 orASTM A153. Electro Galvanized Zinc(ZNPLT), ASTM B633, is available onmost fittings and can be placed onchanne lspe r cus tomer o rde r PVCcoated and special paint colors areavailable on both channel and fittingsper customer order (p leaseconsultfactory).
