Program was first introduced in 2007

Foreign languages in KB context are:

English, Japanese, Korean and Chinese

PURPOSE is to:

Encourage employees to study and improve foreign languages

skills Support employees retention and engagement

Foreign Language Proficiency Tests are taken

twice a year in May and October

Tests are given by contracted institutions

Employees voluntarily take a test

Successful employees are entitled to

allowances

Foreign Language Monthly Allowances in additionto salarya part of compensation packages

Allowance amount depends on a proficiency level

Front office employees both from rural and urbanareas are eligible for allowances

Allowances are valid for one year

After three successful consecutive years, no test

required for another one more year
