End-to-End testing of ECM applicationsDeploying ECM applications is a diffi cult task, as they have to meet both functional and performance requirements. All the more it is important to test their performance prior to the roll-out – from a real end-user perspective, i.e. for the typical use cases, based on real end-user behavior and the volume it is sized for. The same applies to signifi cant changes of the ECM platform, e.g. migrating from IBM FileNet P8 4.x to 5.x or from IBM FileNet P8 Image Manager to IBM FileNet P8 Content Manager.
“ServiceTrace® Load Tester for ECM” helps IBM FileNet and IBM Content Manager customers automate their load testing and regression testing from their end-user’s perspective. ServiceTracer® is very easy to set up and to manage, so the deployment can be done in just a few days. Setting up new measurements for new use cases in your ECM applications is only a matter of hours.
ServiceTrace® Load TesterThe solution consists of the following components:• Workflow Editor: Graphical tool to set up the perfor-
mance measurements based on image pattern recognition. Very easy to learn and to use.
• ServiceTracer® Client: A robot simulating an end-user transaction at the desktop level (GUI). ServiceTracer® measures response times of any ECM frontend applica-tion – IBM, 3rd party and custom-built. The MultiTrace technology enables the execution of parallel measure-ments by one robot. The performance with hundreds of users can be tested with little effort.
• Network Tracer: Measures network performance from the data center to the location of ServiceTracer® Clients.
• Trace Management Server: Collects all performance information from ServiceTracer® Clients and Network Tracers and provides that in Service Level Reports.
