Connection Files
Connection files are used by the online search feature to connect to a
database e.g. Pub Med.
1. From the Tools menu choose “Online search” to open a window
displaying the possible connections.
2. Choices include databases like PubMed and library catalogs
including Rutgers. Click to select.
Tip: Using the EndNote Online Search feature is not as powerful as
using the native database. Search tools available in each of the
databases add unique value.

Sync EndNote with EndNote Web (3)
• Important considerations.
• Only one EndNote library may by used for Sync.
•
• Improper Sync settings can result in data loss.
• Multiple users can Sync with the EndNote Web library but each sync
will overwrite the contents of the library.
• Backing up all data (Use the compress library feature found under
the File pull down menu) it is critical for success.
