Endodontology (Advanced Training) MClinDent /

This full-time, three-year Master's programme isdesigned for students from outside the EuropeanUnion. It matches the institute's Specialty Trainingprogramme and is designed to enable students tomeet training requirements in their home country.

 Degree summary 

The programme teaches a broad and deep understanding ofendodontology, enabling students to apply appropriate clinicalstrategies from first principles. Mentored coaching specifically targetsdevelopment of independent learning skills, with the aim of achievinglong-term mastery.

// Students benefit from a comprehensive curriculum, opportunities forself-directed learning, a clinically relevant laboratory techniquescourse, emphasis on integration of theoretical and clinical aspects,and prioritised reading recommendations. This broad flexibleapproach allows scope for the pursuit of individual academicinterests.

The programme is delivered through a structured lecture and seminarseries, laboratory skills simulation courses, diagnostic clinics,supervised treatment of patients, clinical audit and a research project.

 Degree structure 

Mode: Full-time: 3 years

Location: London, Bloomsbury

Students undertake modules to the value of 360 credits. The third year ofstudy is non-credit bearing and will include clinical training, didacticteaching and completion of clinical audit. Year one: core modules (135credits) and dissertation (30 credits). Year two: core modules (135credits) and dissertation (60 credits).

COMPULSORY MODULES

Years one and two of the programme consist of 13 modules. The third year is non-creditbearing and teaching is delivered via clinical sessions, tutorials, and study groups.

During year three, all students are required to finalise case-log portfolio, complete anaudit project and have an attendance rate of no less than 70%.

OPTIONAL MODULES

There are no optional modules for this programme.

DISSERTATION/REPORT

// All students undertake an independent research project in years one and two, whichculminates in a dissertation of 13,000–15,000 words.

 Your career 

The programme prepares students for future professional evaluation ofclinical/academic competence as a specialist. It is also a suitablespringboard for pursuing academic, clinical or research careers inendodontics.

Employability

The graduates from this programme are prepared for the RoyalColleges’ professional examinations including the MRD (Endodontics) orMEndo which is one of the requirements of some overseas fundingbodies and promotion boards.

 Entry requirements 

All applicants must hold an approved dental qualification and have aminimum of three years' clinical experience post-qualification.

English language proficiency level

If your education has not been conducted in the English language, youwill be expected to demonstrate evidence of an adequate level ofEnglish proficiency.

The level of English language proficiency for this programme is: Good.
