    FAHY DEMONSTRATES BROAD BASE OF

    SUPPORT IN 109th

    DISTRICT PRIMARY CAMPAIGN

Elected Officials Offer Support, Cite Experience and History of Collaboration

New York State Assembly candidate Patricia Fahy today held a news conference to highlight the support from elected

officials that she has received from all areas of the 109th

Assembly District. Fahy, who has two decades of experience in

all levels of government, said todays show of support, including that of nine of the 15 members of the Albany Common

Council, shows that her candidacy resonates with local leaders.

Fahy was joined at the news conference by numerous elected officials, including Albany City Treasurer Kathy Sheehan,

New Scotland Town Supervisor Tom Dolin, Guilderland Town Board member Alan Maikels, County Legislator Mike

Mackey and Common Council member Ron Bailey. Each cited Fahys ties to the community, her ability to build coalitions

to bring the community together and her experience in Albany and Washington D.C., as a member of the Clinton

administration. In addition to the elected officials on hand, Fahy has been endorsed by the Working Families Party, the

NY League of Conservation Voters and Citizens Action.

The support I have received from across the district is truly gratifying, Fahy said. I believe it points to the work I have

done to focus on the job ahead in the State Legislature. We need to reform how we fund our schools in order to reduce

the burden of property taxes on residents, we need to support initiatives that would create jobs and we need to work to

    protect the environment.

Albany is a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family, Fahy continued. Our investments in SUNY and

partnerships with cutting edge innovators in technology have helped make the Capitol Region a leader in creating tech

jobs. We must continue to build on that progress while focusing on helping small businesses and entrepreneurs bring

    their products to market.

"Pat is my number one choice for the new 109th Assembly district's seat, said Jim Gaughan, the mayor of Altamont.

She understands that we are all one -- urban, suburban, and rural --- and clearly has demonstrated to me that she will

work to level the playing field so all her constituents are served."

Pat is the only candidate who truly understands the intense pressure on families to balance work, child and dependentcare, and the ever-increasing cost of living, said Albany Common Councilwoman Catherine Fahey. That, coupled with

her incredible work ethic and experience make her the ideal choice in the 109th District race.

Pat Fahy is clearly the most qualified candidate for Assembly, but what impresses me most is that she does not view

the office as a mere stepping stone, said County Legislator Michael Mackey, whox represents the 38th

    District. Rather,

as Jack McEneny has done so well for 20 years, Pat is committed to being an advocate for her constituents, not for

herself. It will be a pleasure and an honor to be represented by a person of her quality and I am proud to support her.

"Pat has made a determined effort to understand key issues in New Scotland, from promoting land use planning and

economic development in keeping with our community character to supporting new recreational resources like the

Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail. She is well prepared to represent our community in an informed and articulate way in the

New York State Assembly, said Daniel McKay, New Scotland Town Board member.

"Pat has the experience and skills to fight for a fair share of state school funding for our community, said Dan Egan,

President of the Albany City School District Board of Education.

"On the issues that matter most in our communities, like a good education for our kids, Pat has made it clear that she

will fight for us," said Ivette Alfonso, President of Citizen Action of New York. "We need progressives in the Assembly

who will push to bring critical reform issues, like publicly financed Fair Elections, to the front of the agenda. New Yorkers

can't afford to have CEO campaign contributors dictate our State's policy agenda. We're proud to offer our endorsement

to this candidate who will work every day on behalf of New York's working families.

The Working Families Party is pleased to endorse Pat Fahy to be the next member of the New York State Assembly from

Albany Countys 109th Assembly District, said Anita Thayer, Secretary of Capital District Chapter of the Working

Families Party. Pats experience, professionally, and as an energetic, hardworking volunteer and leader in our

community demonstrate the she is ready and prepared to fight for the needs of this district in the NYS Assembly.

Pat knows we need an economy where our politicians are held accountable to working people, instead of big-moneybackers, Pat is a passionate believer in good jobs and good education. She will be an advocate for a fair and equitable

implementation of NYS's affordable health care. Pat is the voice that the unemployed, the working class, and the middle

    class need.

In its recent endorsement of Fahy, the New York League of Conservation Voters said that Albany needs leaders who

understand the importance of protecting the environment.

More than ever, the Capital Region needs innovative leaders who can strengthen our economy and help protect our

environment at the same time, said Marcia Bystryn, president of the New York League of Conservation Voters. Patricia

Fahy has earned our endorsement because of her experience and commitment to clean energy and sustainable

economic growth. We encourage voters in the 109th Assembly District who want a stronger, healthier New York to cast

    their ballots for Patricia Fahy.

"Quality public education is an issue I care very deeply about and so does Pat Fahy, said Albany Seventh Ward Leader

Kathleen Scales. She has spent decades advocating on behalf of the children in the city of Albany as a member and

President of the Albany School Board. I am confident she will take that commitment to the State Assembly and continue

her advocacy there. That is one of the many reasons I am supporting her."
