    Domestic Production

    The production of Petroleum Products in the

    country is about 217.74 MTs

    High speed diesel oil accounts for the

    maximum share(41.83%), followed by Motor

    Gasoline(13.83%), Naptha(7.97%), Fuel

    Oil(6.91%), Bitumen(5.03%) and AviationTurbine Fuel(4.63%)

    India is highly dependent on import of crudeoil.

    70% of its crude oil requirements and part of

    the petroleum products is met from importsNet imports of crude oil have increased from

    99.41MTs during 2005-06 to 184.80 MTs during

    2012-13.

    The export of petroleum products has

    increased from a 23.46 MT during 2005-06 to

    63.41MTs during 2012-13

    Indian Oil, India's second largest oil refining company, is ranked

    19th globally

    India exported over 59 MMT of petroleum products valued atRs 1.96 trillion.

    India's oil refining capacity amounted to 215 MMTPA (Million

    Metric Tonne Per Annum) in Apr 2014 placing India in the fifth

    position in the world after the United States, China, Russia andJapan
