Approximately 290 persons attended the Sunday evening reception and dinner that marked the beginning of EIM’s 17th Annual

Risk Managers Information Meeting. An estimated 299 participated in the 1999 RMIM.

presentations of Monday and Tuesday mornings, Feb. 24 and 25. The annual gathering

EIM Vice Chairman Mark Dodsonwelcomed the attendees to the 17th

annual Risk Managers InformationMeeting. Mark is president of NWNatural, Portland, OR.

President David Hadler gave hisannual State of the Company pres-entation in which he reviewed theyear just ended and addressed thecurrent marketplace.

Jill Dominguez, who is vice presi-dent-underwriting, presented herannual underwriting report.

Vice President Sam Garvin, EIM’sCFO, reviewed the 2002 financialsand operating results.

Jim Hurley, Tillinghast-Towers Per-rin, gave an analysis of Incurred ButNot Reported Loss Reserves.

Steve Shappell, of Aon FinancialServices Group, reviewed litiga-tion trends in the energy industry.

Peter Fusaro, president, GlobalChange Associates, closed Mon-day’s business session with a focuson energy trading, the recent pastand future.

Donna Dunlap, EIM secretary, isresponsible for all arrangementsassociated with the RMIM.

The business session began withPaul Sparks, McGriff, Seibels &Williams, Atlanta, leading a paneldiscussion on the current state ofthe insurance marketplace. Seeadditional photos from this sessionon page 4.

Baker & McKenzie’s Jamie Came-ron gave a presentation on cap-tives, focusing on how they canbenefit any company’s risk man-agement program.

“Dr. Robert Payne,” a prominentconsultant from Washington, D.C.,was introduced just before thebreak. See additional photos from“Dr. Payne’s” presentation onpage 10.

out to be Durwood Fincher, known

as Mr. Doubletalk, a prominent

humorist, whose primary message was:

“Just chill out. Don’t take it all

so seriously.” He showed some footage

from a segment of “Live! With Regis

and Kelly,” where he has appeared

several times, in which he totally fooled

Kelly Ripa with his doubletalk.
