Something ….or someone had handed in the KS1 hall. A lovely start to the new Year 1 book topic Aliens love underpants! All classes had an informative workshop with the Money Sense team. The children learned about saving, budgeting, and other finance essentials in a fun and active workshop.

KS1 BLOG AUTUMN 2 2019

1BC enjoyed a talk with a parent on some of the Diwali traditions and celebration outfits.

Our new half term started with the school alarms going off! Something ….or someone had handed in the KS1 hall.

A lovely start to the new Year 1 book topic Aliens love underpants!

All classes had an informative workshop with the Money Sense team. The children learned about saving, budgeting, and other finance essentials in a fun and active workshop.

Year One were out and about with a trip to the Methodist Church in Upminster to discover more about places of worship.

Reception had a fun morning learning about Diwali. Activities included learning a dance

Year One and Three teamed up to create our entry for the Christmas Tree Festival. The theme is “Out of this World” and our inspiration was “Aliens Love Panta Claus”.

Year Two and Five brought their science topics alive with a visit to the science dome.

The whole school came together on Mon 11th November at 11 o’clock to commemorate Remembrance with a two minute silence.

All classes got “crafty” to create a range of products for the Xmas Fayre. The children nominate a charity and fund a treat in the Summer term with their enterprise profits.

Reception went on a trip to the post box to post letters!

All our reception children and parents have been enjoying the “Ready to Read” sessions on a Wednesday morning.

Year One and Two had a visit from the Road Wise Rangers to teach them all about staying safe on the roads. We all learnt to “STOP, LOOK, LISTEN and THINK” when we want to cross the road!

We all supported Children In Need Day by wearing spotty or Pudsey clothing and donating money.

Year Two held their regatta just before Christmas to test out their boats! They also made sleighs and raced them!

Key Stage One wrote letters to Santa asking about his job and life at the North Pole. They all received replies via very special deliveries from groups of elves! Santa himself put in an appearance at the KS1 class parties.
