ENGINEERS

These engineers answered questions students had about their career. Some questions consisted of the types of projects they have done. Most engineers explained how a lot of what they learned in college was applied to their work.

Many of these engineers talked about their firms more in depth and answered questions about various internships.

Several engineers attended the event from several schools in Arizona such as Arizona State University and University of Arizona, sharing with students about continuing education, their experiences, and other engineering projects.

This Presentation was about what buoyancy is.

Angular momentum project talking about the distance your arms are from the center determine how fast or slow you spin.

Students explaining and demonstrating how drag force affects a falling body based in its surface area. For example a Paper Vs. a rock.

PHY 116 PROJECTS

This project was about the Van de Graaf Electric generator which uses two bands that create large amounts of electricity, the students demonstrate how to discharge the generator.

This demonstrates the reflection and refraction of light and how both angles being reflected are equal to each other

ENGINEERING MECHANICS PROJECT From this track built by ECE students, a metal ball is put on this track where the first part demonstrates applying conservation of energy, the second part shows how the ball experiences radial and tangential forces in the circular track, and the last part is when the ball is in the air (projectile motion) experiencing a gravitational force. Other forces such as friction and normal forces will also be present along the path.

THIS ENGINEERING PROJECT INCLUDED AN INSIGHT INTO IDEAL GAS LAW AND ITS APPLICATIONS.

A biotechnology club is present to share with students about bioengineering and how engineering and technology applies to the life sciences.

PHONE BOOK PULL

A physics tradition where students try to tear apart a phone book in a tug-of-war. This idea was of the phone book pull was inspired by Myth Busters. The phone book is in the middle between the two teams.

TOWER CONTEST

The Annual Tower contest, students are given a limited amount of paper and tape. They have to use these materials and build a tower than can withstand the most weight while staying stable. The group whose tower hold the most weight while still standing wins.
