Direct exposure of sealant to the adhesive side of FortiFlashcan be detrimental if the amount of sealant exceeds what is specified inFortifiber’s installation guide. Please follow installation guiderecommendations regarding location and amount of sealant to be used.Fortifiber strongly recommends using Moistop® Sealant and LiquidFlashing for any installation where sealant may come in contact with theFortiFlash adhesive.

Installation: Prior to installation, surfaces should be dry and cleanedfree of any dirt or other substances that may interfere with adhesion, aswell as any sharp protrusions. Surfaces shall have no voids, damaged, orunsupported areas. Repair surfaces before installing membrane. Primermust be used over some substrates including gypsum board (includingDens-Glass Gold), concrete and masonry. For all other substrates fieldtest a small sample of FortiFlash prior to application. If adhesion isinadequate, apply Fortifiber Primer or 3M Super 77® Spray Adhesiveaccording to the manufacturer’s application instructions. Areas notcovered with membrane the same day must be re-primed.

To apply FortiFlash, peel away the release paper and press membranefirmly over substrate, applying sufficient pressure with a metal or woodroller along the entire membrane to ensure a continuous seal. Product Description: FortiFlash is a premium 25 mil and 40 mil self-adhesive waterproof membrane designed for use as a concealedflashing in frame construction where a waterproof membrane isrequired.

Composition: FortiFlash is composed of an asphalt adhesive that self-seals around fasteners. It is laminated to a cross-laminated, high-density polyethylene film reinforcement with a siliconized paperrelease sheet.

Limitations: For optimum adhesion, FortiFlash should be applied attemperatures between 40° F (4.4° C) and 120° F (48.9° C). Be cautiousabout using FortiFlash where it can be exposed to temperatures aboveits Service Temperature such as hot climates or behind fiber cementand metal sidings that absorb a significant amount of heat. Productshould be covered as soon as possible (exposure not to exceed 45 days).Inspect product to ensure it is free of any damage which maycompromise its moisture-resistive properties.
