Engineering Taster Week Rochester What is Engineering? Its about solving real-life problems through the application of Maths and Science. Here at BAE Systems we apply four main types of engineering: Hardware: starting with the development of concepts, hardware engineers apply technical knowledge to come up with a physical product or solution. Software: by using a systematic and logical approach, software engineers design, code, integrate and test the high integrity software required for today’s complex hardware solutions. . Mechanical: through applying physics and materials science, mechanical engineers look after the design, manufacture and maintenance of systems. Systems: the part of engineering that brings together all the individual efforts into one overall product. Systems engineers oversee the product from beginning to end. We develop, engineer, manufacture and support products and systems to deliver military capability, protect national security and people and keep critical information and infrastructure secure. Get a taste of Engineering in the real-world! With a focus on the aerospace and defence industry, the week consists of:  Manufacturing tours Simulation suite experience Team building exercises Presentations from industry professionals Group engineering project - design an aircraft cockpit of your own!  If you are interested in engineering and want to find out if it is the right career for you, apply today: www.baesystems.com/en/etw

What is Engineering? Its about solving real-life problems through the application of Maths and Science.

Here at BAE Systems we apply four main types of engineering:

Hardware: startingwith the development of concepts, hardware engineers apply technical knowledge to come up with a physical product or solution.
