Engineers have changed the face of the Earth with their
creations and most of thesecreations are come from very simple,
unassuming engineers who have a love anddedication for their
subject. Hats off to these engineers who have changed the world
with their simple, yet innovative creations. Here is a list of
the major engineers andtheir inventions.
Nikola Tesla: AC generation current system Im sure that this
great mans surname does ring a bell for many. If not for him, we
would not have had the AC generation system and as a result both
the motor and thetransformer would not have been a reality. This is
not all, as the man made manyother interesting inventions such as
the induction motor, Tesla coil and thefluorescent lighting.
Nicolas Otto Here i s another engineer who changed peoples
perspective of life with his invention.He invented the 4 stroke
gasoline engine which gave automobiles a whole newmeaning. Though
this 4 stroke concept was present in theory at that time, it
wasNicholas Otto who actually made it a reality.

James Watt Here is another surname that Im sure that you are
familiar with as you will comeacross it as a unit of measurement in
Physics. Well, James Watt is the man whomade many remarkable
inventions and the most praise-worthy among them was theenhancement
of the already existing steam engine that triggered the
industrialrevolution. It was because of him than man was replaced
by machines and he also
calculated the accurate value of 1 horsepower.
Archimedes Eureka! Eureka! These two words are more than enough
introduction for this greatman who basically worked out the
principle of buoyancy and as a result we know why does a pin sink
in water and why does a ship float. The buoyancy principle has been
a boon for marine engineers.

Thomas Edison Whatever is said about this man is less. He was an
engineer who did the job of manyengineers put together. His
inventions undoubtedly speeded up the technologicaladvancement in
the world and the most important of all his inventions is the light
bulb, without which we would still be walking around with torches
in the night.Thomas Edison has made many other inventions without
which life would have been

as he is relatively younger than the otherengineers whom Ive
mentioned in this list. But then, he does deserve to be in thislist
as he made a very interesting set of inventions such as the
SpaceShipOne & White Knight, Helios, Global Flyer etc. His
inventions have made him a strong figure

made path breaking inventions with respect to rocket science.If not
for him, we would not have known many of the principles that are
imperativefor the functioning of a rocket and apart from that he
also designed the R-7 rocket
that is the launcher for Sputnik. So, there are the engineers
who changed the world with their inventions. If not for them, we
would still have been leading primitive lives.
