The touches on this piece have been erased, but it is suggested the decoration on the hinge pin is found in conjunction with the pew­terer N .... I . ... working in Jersey in the 2nd quarter of the 18th century (Cf. Pewter of the Channel Islands by S. C. Woolmer and C. H. Arkwright)
