My daily routine
Morning
I get up every day at 7am. The first thing I do is go downstairs and have a drink of water. After that, I then turn on my computer and
work for about 1 hour. Once I’ve finished my morning work tasks, I make breakfast, which is usually something quick and easy to make.
After I’ve eaten breakfast, I take a break for about an hour to do some stretching and relaxing. Then I’ll try to do some Chinese language
practice for about 30 minutes before I head off to the gym for a workout.
Lunch
I’m usually at the gym from 11:00-12:30, then I go home, take a shower and make lunch. Lunch is probably my favorite meal of the day
because I’m super hungry after my gym workout. One of my favourite lunches is chicken pasta, it’s simple to make and keeps me full for
a long time. I try to then begin work again at 2pm, I will either have some private English lessons to teach online, or I will continue with
some other work, like creating English teaching curriculum or making content for my website and Youtube channel.
Afternoon/Evening
Most evenings I finish work around 5pm, though sometimes I may have some private English lessons to teach online. If I’m free, then I
like to go for a walk in the park, or go eat out at a nice restaurant. If I’m feeling tired, then I’ll just stay at home and listen to some Bible
sermons or watch a TV documentary. When the time gets to around 9pm, I’ll start getting ready for bed. First thing to do is take out the
day’s rubbish, sweep, mop and clean the house a little, then lock the doors. After the house is sorted out, then it’s time for myself to take
a shower, brush my teeth and go to bed. Finally…sleep!

Illness - Cough
Symptoms - A dry cough will feel like a constant tickle in your throat. When you cough, there won't be any phlegm (thick mucus).
If you have a chesty cough as a result of a respiratory infection, you may cough up phlegm.
Cause - Most coughs are caused by viral infections and usually clear up on their own.
Cure - There's no quick way of getting rid of a cough that's caused by a viral infection.
It will usually clear up after your immune system has fought off the virus.
Prevention - Wash your hands frequently during the cold and flu season. This helps prevent the spread of a virus that may cause a cold.
Avoid people who have a cold or influenza if possible. Don't smoke or use other forms of tobacco.
Avoid exposure to second hand smoke, both at home and in the workplace.
Increase your fluid intake. This helps keep the mucus thin and helps you cough it up. It also helps prevent dehydration.
Get a flu shot (influenza vaccine) each year.

Illness - Diarrhoea
Symptoms - Many people with diarrhoea experience stomach cramps and a frequent, urgent need to go to the toilet.
Other common symptoms associated with diarrhoea include nausea vomiting, headache and loss of appetite.
Cause - Diarrhoea is usually a symptom of gastroenteritis (a bowel infection). It can be caused by a virus and bacteria
such as salmonella and shigella – these may all cause food poisoning, also parasites can be a cause.
Cure - Diarrhoea will usually clear up without treatment after a few days because the immune system fights off the infection.
It is important to drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. Take small, frequent sips of water.
You are more likely to become dehydrated if you are also vomiting.
Prevention - To prevent the spread of infections that cause diarrhoea, you should always maintain high standards of hygiene.
For example, you should always wash your hands thoroughly after going to the toilet and before eating or preparing food, clean the
toilet, including the handle and the seat with disinfectant after each episode of diarrhoea, avoid sharing towels, cutlery or utensils with
other household members, avoid returning to work or school until at least 48 hours after the last episode of diarrhoea.
If it is suspected or confirmed that a parasite caused the diarrhoea,
you should avoid using a swimming pool for two weeks after the last episode of diarrhoea.
Practicing good food hygiene will help avoid getting diarrhoea as a result of food poisoning. Some ways you can do this include
regularly washing your hands, surfaces and utensils with hot soapy water, never storing raw and cooked foods together,
making sure food is kept properly refrigerated, always cooking your food thoroughly and never eating food past its expiry date.

Illness - Tooth decay (Cavity)
Symptoms - Toothache and tooth sensitivity and you may feel tenderness or pain when eating or drinking something hot, cold or sweet.
There may be discoloured spots (grey, brown or black) appearing on your teeth, bad breath as well as an unpleasant taste in your mouth.
Toothache is a warning that something is wrong and that you should visit your dentist as soon as possible.
If you ignore the problem it will get worse, and you could end up losing a tooth.
Cause - Tooth decay is caused over time by plaque forming on your teeth. Your mouth is full of bacteria,
which combine with small food particles and saliva to form a sticky film known as plaque, which builds up on your teeth.
Cure - If your decay is in the early stages, your dentist may apply a fluoride varnish to the area. This can help to stop further decay,
particularly if you lower your intake of sugar. If decay has worn away your enamel and caused a cavity, your dentist will remove the
decay and restore your tooth with a filling. If the nerve in the middle of your tooth is damaged, you will need a root canal treatment,
which removes the nerve and restores the tooth with a filling or crown.
If the tooth is so badly damaged it cannot be restored, the only option may be to remove it.
Prevention - Maintaining good oral hygiene through brushing and flossing your teeth is one of the most effective ways
to prevent tooth decay. You can also change your diet. Brush your teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste.
Ideally, brush your teeth after eating rather than before. However, do not brush your teeth for at least 30 minutes after a meal as this can
damage your teeth, particularly if you have eaten food high in carbohydrates or sugar.
Try to avoid eating lots of food and drink high in fermented carbohydrate.
