Dear I’ve spoken to your Mum and I’ve bought some of your favourite food and drink. She says you like burgers, pizza and sausages. We can buy burgers at a restaurant but I’ve got some pizza from the shop. They also sell really tasty sausages there so we can buy some more there later. You’ve got to have something healthy, too, so there are bananas to eat and milk to drink. I think bananas are the best, don’t you? I didn’t get any oranges because they make such a mess. Milk isn’t as nice as cola with pizza, though. So I bought a couple of cans to drink when we eat the pizza. If we have bananas, I don’t think we need any other fruit or fruit juice. But I’ve got your favourite dessert – yes, lots and lots of ice cream. And in all flavours – chocolate, strawberry, cherry. I am really looking forward to your visit. We’ll have a great time.

The Most Popular Kinds of Films – A Survey by Class 8

We recently asked all the children in classes 5, 6 and 7, about their favourite films. The results were very interesting. Top of the list were cartoons, which were very popular with everyone. There are some really wonderful cartoons. The children said that Toy Story was the best cartoon ever. We expected films about animals to come next, but we were wrong. Comedy films were the second most popular after cartoons. We were very surprised to find that animal films were almost bottom of the list. They were only just above love stories. Only two children chose this type of film. There are not many good romantic films for children. A lot of the children liked action and science fiction movies. This is strange because most science fiction films have very complicated stories. We think that the fantastic special effects in modern action films are why children like them so much. In our survey action movies were a bit more popular than science fiction movies and so came just above them on the list.
