In honour of the 20 year anniversary of Pearl Jam, Vinyl Films made a do cumentary about the band’s career. The documentary shows the way the band lived. It starts off with the band Mother Love Bone with Andy Wood as the front man. When he died, the band mates Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard will be left alone. Put that did not put them down, there passion to make music together was translated in the Band called Pearl jam. Their main goal to last for years through making music.

From their first show in 1992, to one of their recent shows in 2010. Every step they took to fame is showed in the documentary. Including com- ments of the artists and the producers the picture is being included.

Remarkable is the sphere that has been specially added for this docu mentary. Even though you’re watching it on your screen, you feel in volved and you experience the moments like the band members did. For the people how lived in the years where the band were on their highest peak of their career, you feel the commitment they had through those years. The footage is old and hazy, but it is a reminder of how the technology was in those days.

Additional is the respect and honesty that is showed. The images are real and are not changed in any way to make the film look more pleasant. And even if you did not know who the band mates were, you would still understand there music. You will get respect for them. Everyone is honest and true to themsel ves. This documentary will bring more admirers to the band. Even the younger generation will be inspired by the actions and the lives of this band.

However the documentary does not show new findings or footage of the band. All the images found were put together to make all of this happen. But it did not make the used footage look dull and odd. For the admirers it’s more of an overview, without showing new views or opinions of outsiders.

We recommend this documentary to anyone who already knows the music of Pearl Jam. But not familiar with the struggles and the emotions behind the songs. Also in this documentary you see the roads that were taken creating ‘Grunge’ music.

When an artist like Jimmy Hendrix became a rock hero in the sixties/ seventies, nobody would believe that the next forty years he would still be a legend and an inspiration for the new upcoming generations. Nowadays generation called, the Millennium generation still have the same heroes from those passed era. And yet we still use the music from back then for inspiration and for expressions. The real explanation is unknown. Perhaps they are old spirits living a new life born through generation Millennium, who used to live in that decade. Or else they were inspired by their parents and grew up with that music. Or maybe it’s the vibe and power the music dated from that time has.Because of the power and faith those artist put in their songs, it made them Because of the power and faith those artist put in their songs, it made them into powerful human beings. Back in the seventies a lot of things were chan-ging. The youth of that time didn’t believe in the same thing the older genera-tion did. They wanted to discover where they wanted to believe and experi-ence with everything so they could discovery their inner personality. The music has given them the change to do that. With their faith the youth changed the policy and gave generation Mil lennium the freedom where they fought for. Of course they will always be obstacles in live that people want to be change. But the thing is that the youth back then and today’s youth have commit the faith. The faith that music can change things and give you room to express yourself. That is the power why music is loved by so many. Every person needs something to believe in. That belief does not have to be a religion, but It can be a person, nature or it can be music. Their always will be music. There for there will nature or it can be music. Their always will be music. There for there will always be the belief in music. That is the merging power of generations.

Music is our religion

A famous quote about the sixties and the hippies, a time full with weed, alcohol, LSD and everything else God forbids. A lot of people as-sociate the sixties with forbidden things. But they forget that it also was a time divided between war and love. This is when one of the and love. This is when one of the most important manifestation of love ever, Woodstock, was brought to life. Three days of peace and music. Three days with 500.000 people without one single fight. The three days were filled with 32 acts, which included Janis Joplin, Joe which included Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, the Who and Jimi Hendrix.

A whole highway blocked because all those young colourful people where trying to get to the most le-gendary festival ever. It was the most peaceful traffic jam ever. There was nothing to do about it, except perhaps park and walk, so they broke out guitars and drums they broke out guitars and drums and tambourines, sat on the hoods, trunks, and roofs of cars and tried to make the best of it. So when they made it to Woodstock there was rain, not enough toilets, a lot of mud and not enough space but there was peace and music. That there was peace and music. That was all they needed.

If you remember the sixties,

100.000 people bought a ticket for Woodstock but at the first day the or-ganisation made it a free festival. They didn’t want to make money, become rich. They just wanted to create a nice festival. They could have never known it would be so huge. They could have never known they They could have never known they created one of the most legendary festivals ever.

To figure out what is so legendary about Woodstock we have to go to the beginning, the vision. So forget the amazing line-up for a minute. Only think about the idea of 500.000 people together, no fighting, no money, only love. Nowadays, so forty years later it’s not even possible anyyears later it’s not even possible any-more to organise something like Woodstock. The rules nowadays are too strict and people are too scared for violence, for terrorism and so on. We will have to do it with festivals with security at every corner and a lot of fences surrounding the festival area. But we all know we are capable on being loving and peaceful because of a few crazy hippies decided they wanted to organise a festival of three days with peace and music, Woodstock.

Nowadays the environ-ment is playing a big role in the society. The earth is damaged and we want to prevent it to be more damaged. Out of this per-spective corporate social responsibility (CSR) is born. The term ‘corporate social responsibility’ became common use in the late 1960s and early 1970s after many multinational corporate formed the term stakeholder, meterm stakeholder, me-aning a person, group or organization that has direct or indirect stake in an organization because it can affect or be affected by the organization’s actions, objectives and poli-cies.The goal of corporate social responsibility is to embrace responsibility, for the company’s actions, choices and positive effect towards human and envi-ronment. The company tries to make choices with tries to make choices with in mind: People, Planet, Profit. With every choice, they will look at the future. Social corporate responsibility is typical so-mething from the twenty-first century.

Corporate social responsi-bility appears in a lot of different shapes. There are big and small trends which all contribute a little to the earth. An example is it so called Green Graffiti. It is a new type of street advernew type of street adver-tising. Formerly billboards were used for street ad-vertising, everybody knows billboards, they are not very special anymore. Green Graffiti is new and innovating. Pavements or walls are cleaned in the cleaned part a message or drawing appears. It is a form of clean advertising. Green Graffiti is conspi-cuous because it is a place where a lot of people cross by. It catches a lot of eyes. In this way companies can show the people that they participate in corporate social responsibility and at the same time get atten-tion for their product.

There are different types of Green Graffiti. The most famous type is Reverse Graffiti. With Reverse Graffiti a pavement is cleaned with a high-pres-sure sprayer and a tem-plate by which a pattern exists. Another type is the Chalk & Milk Graffiti. With the help of chalk and milk a communication expres-sion has been determined. It is almost the same as Reserve Graffiti, only this time it is made with chalk or milk. Every type of Green Graffiti has its own qualities. Some expressions disappear after three months and some expres-sions disappear after one day.In summary social respon-sibility brings a lot of new things to the world, a lot of beautiful things to, like Green Graffiti.

With today’s technology growing among us and in every surrounding we live in. It was just a matter of time before the music industry began to use the amazing technology that are available to us. This is what the guitar maker who’s responsible for the famous and unforgettable Stratocaster 72 of Jimmy Hend rix thought. With its timeless sound and experience we all heard when the legend was talking with his music to our heart and soul. He decided to put this new technology to good use and develop-ment and create a “dream” for musicians with out borders and always ment and create a “dream” for musicians with out borders and always looking forward in there form of art. Strato and Rock the Oldies are proud to present the third generation of this legendry guitar. Called the 2011 Fender Highway Stratocaster. This guitar lives up to its name and makes playing music an experience like you never felt before. The new Starts model on the guitar allows you to play well, easy to control sound and maybe the most important point is that by using array models, you can play for hours during a studio session or playing long gigs. We had the opportunity to put this so called instrument to good use and we must say it did not disappoint, far from it. Playing with this guitar turned to be a complete joy, where the sound is remar-kable and could be made out in a wave of sound made by a thousand guitars. It feels really like a dream and it also plays like dream, no mis-take made there. This is truly a dream made for musicians who want to push the borders of their art form in the way they play, control each note of the sound by limitless playtime.

We all know different ways to be sustainable or to be aware with the environ-ment. We stop taking the long showers, do the laundry at thirty degrees and in q stat of putting your computer on stand by we have to put it out. We all know this things, it is like common knowledge these days. But the real question is: how many people really do this? Research shows that not many people are very conside- rate with the environment. Mainly younger people between the age of sixteen and twenty-five aren’t really helping. That isn’t really weird if the age of sixteen and twenty-five aren’t really helping. That isn’t really weird if you look at the solutions so far. Because with almost all the solutions you have to give things up, as example a long hot shower. It aren’t always really fun things to do.

Fortunately there is a company who agrees! The Sustainable Danceclub is a Dutch company who believes that partying and sustainability can be combined in a fun way. Or as they say people, planet, party. They create sustai- nable products for festivals and clubs. One of their most inno- vating products is the Sustainable Dancefloor. It was launched in the market in 2008 as the world’s first energy generating floor. It is now used as eyecatcher for sustainable innovation at many events and exhibitions.

The Sustainable Dancefloor is a dancefloor that generates energy when people move on it. This energy can go to the lights, the speakers and so on. So while people are dancing, while people are having fun, they are also doing something good for the environment. Movement is energy. The most important thing of the Sustainable Dancefloor is that people are aware of the energy there are making. They get basic visual feedback from the LED lights in the floor; these lighten up when so meone steps on the floor. Besides that there is also a digital energy meter. The digital energy meter is a software application that shows both the power in Watt and the total power produced in Joule or Watt x seconds. This information is displayed on a big screen.

The Sustainable dancefloor is slowly making her introduction in the club- and festi-val industry. So also younger people can be familiar with the environment in a fun way, people, planet, party!

Conclusion: It would be very effective for the environment to use the Sustainable Dancefloor. People are having a good time while taking care for the environment.

Music is a way of expressing yourself, when you are singing in the shower or when you’re a listing to a song when your’ re sad. It helps you to release your emotions. And give them a place for yourself.

Music is one of the binding factors in the world, all over our green and blue planet there are people making music. With two simp- le branches, or with a whole orchestra its all music. Everybo- dy likes to tap his or her feet on the ground or scream a long with his or her favourite song.

Music moves people, if we go back in time you, we can see that music is not only moving people on the dance floor but also in a political way. For example the Vietnam war. But as well as the protests in Syria and Egypt. Where the citi- zens came together and united.

Music is a way of influence people, its used in good ways and bad ways. But if we all bring it back to the basic. Music is enjoying the little things that are hap- ping in our life. Music is one of the biggest tools to influence people and lets hope, in the future it will e used for only good manners.

1970, the year Jimi Hendrix died, Jim Morrisen and the Doors their highest point of their career reached and the Bee Gees were back in business. A moved decennium where great things have happened.

The Beatles stood at the beginning of their new sound. The Beatles stood at the beginning of their new sound. Rock and Roll was born and the hole world could enjoy their beatmusic. The greaser disappeared and long hair came back for it. The start of a new era: ‘the hippies’.

Then the war between the Americans and the Russians Then the war between the Americans and the Russians who fought in Vietnam is inevitable. While many protest songs had their birth. Bands and artists like Bob Dylan and Boudewijn de Groot showed their displeasure to hear about all the things that went on that time.

This forms a nice bridge to the Woodstock festival, This forms a nice bridge to the Woodstock festival, where the singers and their lyrics are left with a slogan like: three days of peace and music. It was a time of happiness and joy.

Big names showed their skills and sharp lyrics on the Big names showed their skills and sharp lyrics on the stage. Besides those protest singers, there was also the underground stream, with the doors as the leaders. A melancholy sound, a singer who lived in his own world and a new sound in the world had blown.

However, there are sad moments as well, because unHowever, there are sad moments as well, because un-fortunately, there has never laid off a long life for great artists. For example: the 27 club. Where Jim Morris, Jimi Hendrix and Curt Cobain, are part of.

To conclude, a time that worked inspiring for the artists of today, a time that changed much for the music. A time, which still exerts its influence, a time that wants you to go back too, but just a time where eccentric and good stories are told by everyone and everything.
