Who can forget the Pathology Duo at Dow? Madam Salma and Akram Sahib taughtus in the fourth year. The tall Akram Sahib was very popular for his precise lectureof exactly 31mins. Madam‘s sibling was a very serene and moderate person whojoined the class of ‘79 as a student.

Humaira Vahidy was never in the limelight. She was a portrait of sobriety, clear-headedness and seriousness in studies. Ghazala, Shamima and Rasheeda were herbatch mates. Following graduation she got married and the identity changed toHumaira Ahsan.

Humaira started her training as a resident in radiology at Liaquat National Hospitalwhere the radiology services were the most superior in those times and she foundan able mentor in the shape of Rasheed Ahmed Sahib (of ARC fame), She did herFCPS and moved to the Aga Khan University as a consultant and Assistant Prof.

For some time she was the chief of radiology services. In due course shecompleted her FRCR and migrated to the United States. On completion of herfellowship in radiology she was appointed as Associate Prof of Clinical radiology inthe University of Missouri, Columbia.

Humaira’s persona has not been affected by the ravages of time. Her polite smilealways tells the story of her inner peace. Her Daughter became a doctor from AKU, ismarried and is here in US. Son, graduated from Purdue University and on the road to abright carrier. She now enjoys newer spirits of life as a grandmother.

Dear HumairaCongratulations for being personality of the week and your achievements in life. I am sure you do not remember me but fortunately I remember you but we have done few rotations together , one I remember was in the surgical 4 with Irshad Wahid(when three groups used to combine). I did not know that you are in Columbia . I have been to Columbia twice to attend Dialysis conference. I wished I knew so that I could have met you. Best of everythingRegardsAnwar

Sometimes the Dulha makers send in the new POW even before the previous one has been digested.

There should be an uproar until the POW responds, even if it is just a one liner (like at western weddings, the audience starts banging the silver ware until the DulhaDulhan kiss and then the show can go on).Did I miss a response from POW 61 or 62?

Shahzaman, enjoy the limelight -- there is something special when colleagues cheer -- very proud to read of your professional achievements.
