From our cover . . .All New Ride at Aquatica TakesWaterslide Thrills to New Heights . . .Ihu’s Breakaway Falls™ - the tallest, steepest and only multi-drop tower slide of its kind in Orlando – is now open at Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark™.

Riders climb 126 steps to the top of the eight-story tower (nearly 80 feet), stepping into one of three colorful breakaway boxes. As the door closes, riders cross their arms and give a thumbs up in preparation for their drop -- they’ll never know when the floor beneath them will disappear! Facing each other, riders watch as their fellow riders fall. Adding to the anticipation is the sound of a heartbeat, which can be heard in the background while bracing for the drop. Once the floor disappears, riders drop 20-24 feet per second launching them

into a spiraling speed slide culminating in a final splashdown.

Riders who are not quite brave enough for the breakaway boxes can try the open slide. But don’t be fooled, this is not an ordinary slide; it’s the steepest of the four slides and many riders are calling it the most intense.

Florida ZiplineAttraction Announces New Name and Even Newer Rides . . .The operators of Florida’s largest zipline attraction are proud to announce their new name, Forever Florida – Ziplines & Adventuresin the Wild.

The attraction’s new name is bor-rowed from the land it is located on, the 4,700-acre Forever Florida Wildlife Conservation Area, one of Florida’s most pristinely kept wild places. This land was the site of Florida EcoSafaris at Forever Florida. Today, it is the site of six new zipline and thrill ride adventures that are part of the exciting new brand,Forever Florida – Ziplines &Adventures in the Wild.

The six new adventures include four that are bundled together in Forever Florida’s new Thrill Pack. The Thrill Pack features the Rattlesnake, the only zipline roller coaster in the USA; the Peregrine Plunge, the longest single straightaway zipline in Florida; the Panther Pounce, a 68-foot-high challenge tower that delivers a harrowing controlled fall; and the Swooping Crane, an extreme,free-fall swing where guests arereleased from a height of 55 feet.

Forever Florida also features the Zipline Adventure, the biggest and safest zipline trail in Florida with seven dual ziplines and three sky bridges. Also available is the Cypress Canopy Cycle, a reclined bicycle sus-pended as high as 25 feet on a steel cable trail that guides guests safely through the wilderness.

A New Expansion for Toddlers at LEGOLAND FloridaA herd of cows, goats, chickens, and sheep arrived at LEGOLAND Florida to graze about in their new homes in the park’s latest expansion, DUPLO Valley, specifically geared to toddlers ages 2 to 5. DUPLO Valley will officially open to guests on May 23, 2014, just in time for family-fun over Memorial Day weekend. The DUPLO farm animals will be key features in two of the attractions, the mini tractor ride and the water play area. DUPLO Valley will be the ideal place for park guests to play and relax with their toddlers with new farm-themed attractions, an air-conditioned indoor play area, and a water play area.

The central feature of DUPLO Valley will be the DUPLO Train where toddlers will be able to board a train on their own or with their parents to explore countryside-themed scenery passing through farms, fishing holes and campgrounds. Just across the way, toddlers will be able to jump on a tractor their size and help the farmers plow the cornfields and hunt for missing farm animals. For those looking to cool off, the new splash and play area will be refreshingly fun with intermittent water spouts and interactive water elements set among larger than life farm animals with a soft deck for safety.

Another key element will be the existing DUPLO Barn which will feature significant enhancements to allow kids to play indoors in the comfort of air conditioning. Existing attractions will be enhanced with additional DUPLO farm-themed play areas and a toddler room where parents can relax while kids build with DUPLO bricks.

The new DUPLO Valley will add more excitement to LEGOLAND Florida’s line-up of more than 50 rides, shows and attractions dedicated to children of ages 2 to 12. For more info, visit www.florida.legoland.com.

The “crowning jewel” of New Fantasyland, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train represents the completion of the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history. This family-style coaster features first-of-its-kind ride vehicles that swing back and forth during the ride. Adding to the fun, the journey will be accompanied by music from the film classic and scenes filled with Snow White, the Seven Dwarfs and playful forest critters.

Inspired by the Disney animated film classic “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” the story begins as guests cross a stone bridge and walk through a beautiful forest with the Dwarfs’ cot-tage in the distance. Then, they step into the

attraction entrance and into the timeless story of the radiant and kindhearted Snow White and her forest friends led by the lovable Dwarfs.

After passing through an interactive pre-show area with fun activities themed to mining – such as washing and sorting gems – guests will proceed to the mine train. Picks, shovels, barrels and hoists are scattered throughout the queue tunnel and at the load-in area.

Guests board the specially-designed mine cars and launch into their journey through the mine. Each “train” consists of five mine cars, which seat four guests each. As guests twist and turn through the mine, the cars rock back and forth, adding an extra family-friendly thrill element. Riders tour through the cavernous mine’s winding track – jutting outside to climb and dip through the wooded landscape, and then re-entering the mine at different points in the attraction.
