Entering Spanish II Honors Summer Homework
2
Hola chicos – We appreciate your willingness to do this work over the summer so that you are fully prepared for Spanish II Honors. In the long run, it will be very worth it for you. If you have questions as you go, please feel free to email the World Languages Department Head, Lisa Clarke, at [email protected]. We want to make sure that you understand the goal of the work in this packet. The way that the Spanish department is set up at Calvary, the natural progression is to move from Spanish I Honors to Spanish II Honors. Therefore, the majority of the students in Spanish II Honors will be coming from the Spanish I Honors classroom. Because that is an honors class, we moved more quickly and covered more material. We want to make sure that you have the same foundation, so that when we are reviewing content from Spanish I Honors, it won’t be brand new to you and leave you feeling behind. If you’re coming from Spanish I Honors, this will be an excellent way for you to work on the material that you learned at the end of the year and had less time to rehearse. This packet is set up to walk you through chapters 6A, 6B, & 7A. Depending on your Spanish I experience, some of this may be new, and some of it may be review. Both are important! We know there’s a lot of information to go through, but be encouraged that we kept this as minimal as possible. A lot of these worksheets will only take you a minute or two! We’ve also included the links to grammar videos (They’re short! Usually around 5 minutes!) that can help you through the guided notes and grammar worksheets. We’ve tried to keep this packet as brief as possible, while still giving you enough practice to learn and utilize these concepts. Please do everything included in the packet, and do it with excellence. It is all important. You will need to bring this packet with you on the second day of the school year. To remain in Spanish II Honors, you will need to have completed this packet and need to score at least a 70% on a multiple choice test over this material (that will be your first grade of the school year). Finally, we would like to let you know how our department grades. Spelling and accents matter – you will have a partial point taken off for mistakes in either of those categories. Make sure that you are carefully checking your verb conjugations and sentence order. See you in August!

List of Concepts Upon returning to school, you should be ready to take a test on the following grammar concepts
& vocabulary words.
You should be well-versed in how to use and apply this grammar in the context of a spoken or written conversation. You should also be able to recognize all vocabulary terms and translate
them from Spanish to English. I have included practice worksheets for the grammar, but expect you to work on your vocabulary independently. I highly recommend quizlet – you may use our
