– Feb 2012 - Opening of EI Johannesburg Office

– Largest Trade Mission to South Africa

• 2013

– Major sector Workshops covering Fin Services and Telecoms

– Doing Business in West Africa seminar

– Trade mission to South Africa and Nigeria

– Client exports to Africa reached €550M

– 300 Client companies now active in Sub-Sahara Africa

• 2014

– Opening of EI representative office in Lagos

– Strengthening of EI team in Johannesburg (Hub office)

– Work underway with 100+ companies at present

Planned

• Africacom – Telecommunications – w/c 10th November 2014

• Trade missions

- South Africa (Q2 2015)

- West Africa – Nigeria and Ghana (Q4 2015)

• Increased “Trade consultant” coverage - sectors and geographies

• Currently evaluating EI representative office in East Africa

• Continue joint collaboration with African Embassies in Dublin and

Irish Embassies in Africa.

Ambition: €800M in EI client exports to Africa by 2016
