Themes of our discussions
• EIDR brand name now recognized • Some actors now starting to see EIDR IDs in their
workflows (coming from the US) • Push and pull both remain important (send an EIDR
ID, request an EIDR ID) • Starting to figure out when to join, not why
• ITV use case activity resonates • Implications for improving metadata quality
• Ask for EIDR IDs in audience measurement is a good lever • Dealing with European specific topics
• Many languages • Language versions, edits

New EIDR Tiger Teams
Publication Status Interactive Materials
Publication Status • Publication Status: “valid” or “in development”
– Most records are “valid” – even those that are actually in development or in production
– The In Development Publication Status is for “private” or “confidential” registrations that no one else can see
• In Development has limiting de-duplication issues • Anyone who may have need of confidential pre-
release registrations should join the Tiger Team • The first Publication Status Tiger Team call will be:
– Wednesday, October 5 – 8:00AM Pacific (to better accommodate European participation)
Interactive Tiger Team • Already part of EIDR standard, but not yet activated • Initiating Requests
– Issue raised during recent Supplemental Tiger Team – Current request to register non-linear VR
• Interactive Referent Type applies to works that do not have a fixed duration/order of presentation, including: – Games – Non-Linear VR – Image Galleries – Menu Systems
• We need everyone’s help with the outreach to ensure complete representation on the Tiger Team
Interactive Tiger Team: Outreach • We’ll send an email invitation to all members • We ask all of you to extend an invitation to anyone
in your company who may be interested/impacted (including other divisions and subsidiaries)
• The first call will be held: – Thursday, October 13 – 8:00AM Pacific (to better accommodate European participation)
• In this meeting, we’ll: – Set the scope and goals for the Tiger Team – Verify that we have sufficient industry coverage – Set the schedule for future calls
Tiger Team Meeting Invitations • Contact Richard Kroon to be added to the Tiger
Team meeting invitations and email distribution lists – [email protected] – (818) 207-3037
• Conference Call: – (888) 619-1583 / (719) 457-1414 – Passcode: 364153 – International dial-in numbers are available

EIDR Policy Discussion
Creating New Alt ID Types
EIDR Alternate ID Types • Alternate IDs contain a Type and a Value
– Type may be specific (IMDb, ISAN, etc.) or general (Proprietary)
– General Type IDs require an identifying Domain
• Specific Type IDs are generally easier to use – Fewer fields to enter – Less chance for human error – Easier to search and sort – Available in look-up lists
• EIDR needs a policy for promoting an Alt ID Type from general (Proprietary) to specific (controlled vocabulary)
EIDR ID Type Policy • IDs are automatically identified by Type when part
of a published standard (Ad-ID, ISAN, etc.) • IDs are also identified by Type when widely
recognized as an industry standard (IMDb) • What additional rules should apply before issuing
a new ID Type? – Internet resolvable (via an open or restricted service?) – Used (stored/referenced/exchanged/etc.) by multiple parties
(≥ 3?) – Minimum number of available IDs (≥ 5,000?) – Role of EIDR Members in the process (including the ID
provider?)
