for Scientists and Technologists working in Govt. Sector (2nd to 13t h December, 2019)
Emergence of technology based enterprises and technology driven entrepreneurs is the need of the day, especially when the globalized world boasts of disappearing boundaries of world markets. To convert business ideas in to reality and to have more and more high tech and high end projects, there is a need to orient scientists and technologists of research laboratories and other R&D institutions to entrepreneurship.
With the above imperatives at hand, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) [promoted by IDBI, IFCI, ICICI and State Bank of India (SBI)] is organizing a specialized nation~ training programme on "Entrepreneurship Development & Management for Scientists & Technologists working in Government sector" from 2nd to 13th December 2019 at its campus located at Ahmedabad (Gujarat). Programme is fully sponsored (except. to & fro travel cost) by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi hence no fees will be charged. Your institute/organization has been recommended by the Ministry for the purpose of participation. Enclosed brochure (with nomination form) will give you a fair idea about this activity.
Intake capacity for the programme is only 25 and the candidates will be selected on firstcome-first-served basis. You are requested to please nominate scientist/technologist/ professor from your organization/institute. You can nominate maximum two candidates from your organization / institute. Please note that dully filled-in nomination formls must reach us

Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India an autonomous and not-for-profit institute,
set up in 1983, is spon§o,ed by apex financial institutions - the lOBI Bank Ltd., IFCI Ltd., ICiCI Bank
Ltd. and the State Bank of India (SBI). The Government of GUjarat pledged twenty-three acres of land
on which stands the majestic and sprawling EDII campus. To pursue its mission, EDII has helped set
up twelve state-level exclusive entrepreneurship development centres and institutes. One of the
satisfying achievements, however, was taking entrepreneurship to a large number ~f schools,
colleges, science and technology institutions and management schools in several states including
entrepreneurship inputs in their curricula. In view of EDiI's expertise in Entrepreneurship, the
University Grants Commission had also assigned EDII the task of developing curriculum on
Entrepreneurship and the GUjaratTextbook Board assigned to it the task of developing textbooks on
Entrepreneurship for 11th & 12th standards.
In order to broaden the frontiers of Entrepreneurship Research, EDII has established a Centre for
Research in Entrepreneurship Education and Development (CREED), to investigate into a range of
issues surrounding small and medium enterprise sector, and establish a network of researchers and
trainers by conducting a biennial seminar on entrepreneurship education and research.
In the international arena, efforts to develop entrepreneurship by way of sharing resources and
organising training programmes, have helped EDII earn accolades and support from the World Bank,
Commonwealth Secretariat, FNSt, British Council, Ford Foundation, European Union,
ASEAN Secretariat and several other renowned agencies.
