Next steps

• Data base finalised (completed + “clean”)• Data integration

– Noise contour maps + NRL – Tabular data + NRL

• Further explore the results– Use of additional sources (e.g. Urban Audit)– Spatial assessment

• Provide a user-friendly platform to present the results (web interactive tool)

Remarks on Reportnet

• Noise: – complex requirements, – a lot of information– need to ensure/facilitat data collection to reduce

mistakes

• Data not properly reported may be “useless”

• What Reportnet offers:– Streamlining the process– One single place (Data dictionary, templates, QA)– Easy to keep track

Page 11: Environmental Noise Directive First results Núria Blanes and Jaume Fons ETC-LUSI / UAB NRC for Noise Meeting Copenhagen, 12 November 2008

QA on demand

• QA to avoid/recognise “common” mistakes– Data format– Hundreds– Empty cells

Page 12: Environmental Noise Directive First results Núria Blanes and Jaume Fons ETC-LUSI / UAB NRC for Noise Meeting Copenhagen, 12 November 2008

Empty cells

• Interesting to kow different situations: better assessment.

• Use of 2 codes to indicate that data is not reported:– Below END thresholds– No major sources of noise (“0” has several

meanings)– Data not mandatory / not YET available /not

available
