Maximilian Walker ENVS 100 October 9, 2015 We are all animals, as animals we think for ourselves, we don’t see the larger picture or the systems outside of our own lives. We do as we do even until our actions wipe ourselves out. The deer consume until there is no forest left to support them, and die. The wolves hunt until there is no prey left to support them and die. The sapiens harvest until their is no more resources, and then die. Life falls, then returns anew. Animals change to their environment to survive returning to success by adapting to scarcity. But Humans change their environment to survive, returning to success by managing a balance. Should we embrace the animal or the human side of our nature? like animals, exhaust until we leave our space for the next? Or like humans, find the balance, and cheat extinction? I think we should take the human side. Preserve the environment, think for the earth, I think it’s our salvation to construct the encyclopedia of life, succeed or vanish trying. Balancing the forces of HIPPCO by any means we can. Confronting Habitat destruction, and Pollution by regulating our waste and spreaded territory such as creating sanctuaries for humans, not nature. Let us live in an enclosed protected environment for us to thrive. Then begin fully harnessing the innovations of the internet and the cloud. So that negotiations, social contacts, and businesses can severely cut down on global travel, to afford more integrated customs, lessening chances for accidental spread of Invasive organisms. Most of all, spreading education farther to more children and adults, therefore encouraging more solutions, reducing our global population, driving down the demand for Earth’s resources to a more sustainable level.
