FROM THE PRINCIPAL TERM 2 INVOICE

Last Friday the Term 2 Invoice was sent out. All costs associated with this invoice are costs that are incurred by the school and payment is expected. The exception is the P&C Donation but with our inability to hold a major fundraiser like the school fete we ask that you support the P&C Donation. Please contact me via the school office if there are any concerns with payment. All calls will be treated confidentially. When paying online we request that you itemise your payment. Instructions were attached with the invoice. PARKING AROUND SCHOOL

I know that parking around our school is difficult but everyone still needs to follow parking laws and act with courtesy. We ensure all children are safe until they are picked up by a parent. If your child is in K-2 the teacher will bring them to the office where they will be supervised. If your child is in Y3-Y6 and you are picking them up, tell them to come to the school office if you haven’t arrived by 3:30pm and they will be supervised. I remind you of this because of recent practices where the parent has used the excuse I am running late and need to pick up my child or children. We ask that you support us by: 1. Not parking across neighbour’s driveway. This is illegal and causes a lot of angst with our neighbours; and 2. Do not park across the driveway to our access gate at the bottom of the school. This is our only vehicle access and in case of an emergency we need it to be clear at all times. EXTERNAL VALIDATION

The school is currently going through external validation. This is an accountability exercise that each school must participate in every five years. It involves a lengthy and detailed electronic submission around fourteen elements that the department has identified that constitutes a good school. This submission will then be followed up by an external panel interviewing teachers executive and myself. It is very time consuming but is mandatory. If some things take a little longer than usual, it is likely that this is the reason.

PSSA Soccer Last Friday, the A team played against Cherrybrook PS. It was a tough game and we lost 9-0. We had two chances and both of them were by Nicholas. The Man of the Match was Nicholas for his scoring chances. By Anthony 6/5S

Our soccer PSSA B team went to Pennant Hills Park on the 24th of May. The B team played against Cherrybrook PS. Unfortunately we lost 7-0 but we tried our best. The Player of the Match was Malana for her great play in midfield. By Ryan 6/5P

Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers

Re: Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)

Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with

Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports

provided to students with disability. These relate to legislative requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992

and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, in line with the NCCD guidelines (2019).

Information provided about students to the Australian Government for the NCCD includes:

year of schooling

category of disability: physical, cognitive, sensory or social/emotional

level of adjustment provided: support provided within quality differentiated teaching practice, supplementary,

substantial or extensive.

This information assists schools to:

formally recognise the supports and adjustments provided to students with disability in schools

consider how they can strengthen the support of students with disability in schools

develop shared practices so that they can review their learning programs in order to improve educational outcomes

for students with disability.

The NCCD provides state and federal governments with the information they need to plan more broadly for the support of students with disability. The NCCD will have no direct impact on your child and your child will not be involved in any testing process. The school will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be identified – the privacy and confidentiality of all students is ensured. All information is protected by privacy laws that regulate the collection, storage and disclosure of personal information. To find out more about these matters, please refer to the Australian Government’s Privacy Policy (https://www.education.gov.au/privacy-policy). Further information about the NCCD can be found on the NCCD Portal (https://www.nccd.edu.au). If you have any questions about the NCCD, please contact the school.

Kind regards

Principal
