Dr. Denoix of the CIRALE (Center of Imaging and Research on Equine Locomotor Affections) in Normandy, France is considered the world’s foremost equine musculoskeletal system anatomist as well as a leading equine diagnostic ultrasonographer. Dr. Denoix is a founder and current president of ISELP and was also the 2006 recipient of the Schering Plough Equine Research Award from the World Equine Veterinary Association for outstanding applied research work in Equine Diagnostic Imaging. Jean-Marie has been the invited speaker at many international meetings in more than 30 countries around the world on topics related to clinical examination and imaging of equine locomotor problems.

Dr Kirsten Neil has worked in equine hospitals in Australia and New Zealand and completed her Masters and specialist residency training at Michigan State University. Kirsten has been an FEI veterinarian, treated patients at the Sydney Olympics, Badminton and Rolex Three Day Events. Kirsten has been a team veterinarian for Equestrian Australia She is the Victorian Eventing Squad team vet, In 2013, Kirsten was awarded the Equestrian Victoria Official of the Year Award. Kirsten provides second opinion, medical and referral consultations for other veterinarians, and concentrates on problems in sport horses, in particular lameness and poor performance. In 2013, Kirsten became a DACVSMR(equine), and is one of only three veterinarians in Australia with this qualification.

Dr Hadley Willsallen started her veterinary career as an intern at Agnes Banks Equine Clinic. In 2009 Hadley became a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Surgery of Horses and in 2014 she was recognised by the NSW Veterinary Surgeons Board as a Registered Specialist in Equine Surgery. As member of the AVA Hadley was recently appointed by Equine Veterinarians Australia as the NSW State Representative. Hadley also works as an FEI veterinarian for eventing and at the Sydney Royal Show each year.

Alex undertook 6 years of imaging training at the University of California, Davis; 2 years training in Large Animal Ultrasound with some of the world’s top Equine Ultrasonographers, followed by 4 years training to be a specialist veterinary radiologist. Alex became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology in 2013 and returned to Australia to work at the University of Sydney as a Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2014. Alex works closely with our Equine Specialists and referring veterinarians to provide the highest quality of imaging possible. She has a strong interest in the diagnosis, monitoring and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries as well as the use of advanced imaging modalities to help us obtain an accurate diagnosis in our more challenging cases.

Sue graduated from University College Dublin in Ireland and spent a short time working in equine practice in her home town of Cork, before starting an internship at a large equine practice in the UK. She stayed in the UK for an additional 3 years working in private practice before moving to Australia. She was invited to a Fellowship in Large Animal Ultrasonography at UC. This fuelled her passion for teaching. This path led her back to Australia and is now part of the U-Vet team as their first Equine Sports Medicine resident under the supervision of Dr Cate Steel.
