Dear W 5A: Thank you very much for the delightful Halloween bags
you prepared for all of our Meals on Wheels clients. I continue to receive compliments about the bags as I speak with clients each day. One client described her anticipation in advance of Halloween. She has received one of your bags the last three years and said she felt like a child awaiting a surprise, wondering if she should receive a bag again this year, and if so, what it would contain. She joyfully relayed her evaluation that she was not disappointed. "This was the best bag by far! "
The colorful Mylar bags were definitely a topic of conversation. They thought they were wonderful! Many thanks have been relayed for the contents of kh~:3iJ~~ the bag. They definitely appreciated the useful items. Several called while sipping on the cup of hot spiced cider. That was a favorite treat.
One client described the day as starting off with intolerable • pain. "Everything ached and hurt, but you know that little bag did wonders for me. I was so surprised and pleased to receive the trick or treat bag that I became engrossed in its contents and I started working on the little word search book and eventually I realized that I hadn't even thought about any aches or pains and felt so much better! ' She kept repeating her thanks.
One WSA volunteer driver shared her own pride in being able to deliver the bags to her clients, share in the pleasure they brought to the clients, see the sparkle in their eyes and the anticipation they evidenced as the treasures tumbled out of the bags.
It was a real pleasure to be invited to share information with your members. Congratulations on the amount of parental support your youth have. I hope they had as much fun putting the bags together as our clients did opening them. They really did make Halloween very special for our clients. Thanks to each of you. We will look forward to partnering again next year.
Sincerely, Marita Hafner

Aenlbers Write: Dear WSA:
My family and I would like to thank you for WSA's sponsorship of the Kasic Memorial Tennis Tournament. Unfortunately none of our immediate family was in Pueblo during the tournament but we were told that it was a great success thanks to the professionalism, dedication and support of the WSA members.
Jim Jr. and family were in France on business, Mike is a pilot in the Air Force, Brian is in Australia and John works in Virginia. I was in Seattle on business.
My family and I are proud of WSA's endeavors throughout the state and honored to have the tournament as a memorial to my late husband who was a member of WSA all of his life. Thank you again for your generous sponsorship.
DearWSA:
Sincerely, Gail Kasic
Thank you so much for your generous contribution ,, in the fight against Breast Cancer. I received many letters with encouraging words, prayers, and prayer requests. I received 52 pledges totaling $2840! I could not have done it without Y;OU. I was overwhelmed by the extremely generous gifts ...
The 3-day walk from Kenosha to Chicago was a success. The total new amount raised was $6.5 million. This entire amount will helps educate, research, and test this horrible disease and to help women with undetected 'breast cancer find out early enough to survive. Cancer has effected so many of our lives. It has personally touched our family. We have felt so helpless as our loved ones could not fight any longer. Even the strong can't always survive. I lost my sister April 10 to her battle with cancer. I have watched my Mother-in-law to continue her battle.
I walked every mile with your names and the names you gave me on my shirt and also in my prayers.
I walked all 60 miles without even a blister on my feet! I knew there were many Angles with me helping me carry my heavy heart, my broken spirit, cluttered mind and encouraged my tired feet to move. The inspiration and hard work of 700 volunteers and crew members, the people with signs along the way, kept us

wish to thank you for your donation. As you know when you presented the check to us at our Ely Arthritis Education and Support Group Meeting on October 17th, how happy we were to receive this donation.
Our primary need for money is for research for a cure for the 100 different types of arthritis. However, donations also help in making available to our members new publications which will help them understand arthritis.
Thanks again. It is groups like yours that help us in our effort to cope "living with Arthritis".

. ' motivated. ldl,d fantastic and felt L ' could of kept walking 60 more miles. I met so many incredible people. There were young women who were survivors, men walking for their wives in deep thought, as well as people walking for their Moms, Daughters, Sisters, Aunts, Grandmas, Cousins and Friends, just as I was. There was laughter, tears, hugs and I even found spiritual , · singing and Holy Mass. Each night we would walk into a full Mobile City. There were thousands of tents. They had medical tents with Dr.'s and RN's, (even free massages), a general store, hot showers, and a giant dining tent with terrific homemade meals and live entertainment. It was AWESOME!! We all had a common bond to cross the finish line togeth-

May God Bless you and yourramily always with health, love and peace. Thank you with all my heart for your generosity.

Dear W SA: On behalf of the members of The
American Bear Association and volunteers at the Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary, we would like to express our deep appreciation for your generous donation.
The contributions we receive help us continue our work in promoting respect for the black bear, other wildlife, and the importance of habitat. The Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary is our open-air classroom where visitors can come to experience the 'magic" of the bears. Here people witness a wide range of behavior and gain new understanding of the black bear and its habitat. This understanding can help prevent the creation of "nuisance" bears and avoid their needless deaths.
Thank you for your support and most of all, thank you for caring.
· Sincerely, Kimberley S. McGrath Staff of The American
Bear Association

As I finish the second week of the Fall 2001 Trimester at Fort Lewis College, I am full of excitement and curiosity that marks a new school year. While I walk amongst the bustle on campus, I cannot help but feel indebted to you. This is my second year at FLC and I am a junior. Transferring to FLC was the best decision I have ever made. I feel like I am really at home here and getting a remarkable eduction.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my earnest thanks to you for your contribution to my education. I truly would not be able to be here without your generosity. You have my sincerest thanks and my word that I will do everything to make the most of your gift. I am so very proud to be a member and have the support of the Western Slavonic Association!

Dear WSA: The Ely Fire Department would like to express our
sincere thanks for your financial support of our Fire Safety Education Program.
It is our sworn duty to provide the Ely community with the level of fire protection and life safety the public expects. You have recognized that we desperately need to reach our children with accurate and vital facts that will educate and help them grow as safe, happy and responsible citizens. The materials we have carefully selected were developed exclusively by the National Fire Safety Council, a non-profit, tax-exempt organization. Because of your generous support, we are able to provide this well-rounded Fire Safety Education Program. Without your help this could not have been possible.
~,,. j Words fail to express how wonderful it is for us to ,,
see such community support as yours for our children. We sincerely appreciated your efforts on behalf of
the youth of our community. Thanks again, on behalf of the Ely Fire Department
and all the young people who will be touched by your helping hand.
Yours in Safety, Service and Protection, Gary L. Klun
