Cytochromes P450 17A1 and 21A2 are important in steroidogenesis. We are utilizing our recently determined structure of P450 21A2 to define the bases of the >100 known human variants seen clinically. Another goal is to understand the bases of the changes of activity in the variants of P450 17A1.
